"Arrgh, what's taking them so long?" Baxter grunted, checking the wall clock and pacing back and forth behind his table, "It's already been seven minutes."
Leo looked at Jayden with questioning eyes. The third year simply shrugged and mouthed, 'Nothing new.'
Leo was not convinced.
"Give them three more. Darius hasn't been having the best of luck with his Accessory," the vanguard tried.
Baxter stopped pacing and regarded the boy for a moment.
Leo, who now shifted imperceptibly from foot to foot, had finally managed to get his attire on. After sending multitudes of mana through the vambrace, the vanguard had resigned and stooped as low as begging.
The sore scene of him pleading to his Accessory was still fresh in his mind.
"Congratulations on activating your Accessory, Smith."
"Ahaha!" Leo scratched the back of his head. Jayden looked away to the side and coughed loudly, muffling his chuckles.
