The control room descended into a state of utter silence as each student bore a mortified expression over the horrifying images that flashed on the screen.
Silently and with ever-growing fear, the first-year students from the other squads watched the demonic bear tear through the ranks of the latent dragon's squad.
The far right of the control room housed a square enclosure with runes carved into its thick wooden walls. With each kill, a shimmer of runes spawned the eliminated student, placing them down in any manner of ways.
Most of them fell in a screaming heap of terror, scrambling to get the demon bear's jaws off their bodies. Others fell like bricks or 'a sack of potatoes', petrified by the horror and tragedy that had befallen them.
Arthur felt the fear and anxiety of having to go through that seep into his bones as the students returned.
