Cade brandished his battle axe with two hands, abandoning the use of his shield altogether.
The alpha snarled angrily from the top of the cliff before leaping down from the tall wall, landing a few metres away from Cade in a loud thud that sent cracks through the ground.
The beast seemed unfazed by the height it had just leapt from, proving the strength it possessed. Not wasting any time, the alpha charged forward.
Compared to the other wolves that had nearly overwhelmed them, Cade was inclined to think this beast was much more powerful.
'In that case…' the latent dragon launched forward, mirroring the charging wolf.
As the two drew near, the wolf leapt into the air, its colossal maw stretched wide enough to bite Cade's torso in half.
Cade's axe flashed imperceptibly through the air, appearing like a silver upward arc aimed under the beast's maw.
