Professor Draul pulled his wand from somewhere within the folds of his black cloak and sent a flurry of runes towards the curtains, shutting them and drowning the room in a sea of darkness.
Murmurs filled the room as confusion rolled, "Silence! This will be over in a moment!" the professor scowled.
The first hint of light came from the back right corner of the ceiling. Runes cast an amber glow on the whole room as they appeared from thin air and weaved a set of three intricate circles that spun in counter directions.
