King Trevor stood on the other side of the door to the dark prison cell, quiet and unmoving. Guards stood around him, keeping their distance in fear of experiencing his crippling aura.
He might not have looked it but the man was raging mad. His face didn't show but any phoenix or fire-sensitive creature could tell that he was a furnace poorly-contained and waiting to explode.
This is what Arthur saw the king to be. The prince's sapphire eyes pierced through the darkness and settled on the flaming orange orbs that belonged to his Father.
"Good evening, Father," Arthur greeted in a small squeaky voice.
The prince's phoenix had also gone quiet at the sight of their father, waiting in anticipation for what the man would do.
