Awakening a phoenix core could have been the most painful experience Arthur could describe for as long as he could remember which was saying something considering Arthur had been through his share of painful ordeals.
This one though, overtook them all without a doubt.
The feeling of having each and every cell of his body ignite in flame and then burn away only to be rebuilt from the embers of his core as a powerful phoenix.
The entire ordeal was simply excruciating for the prince… and now that he thought of it, he'd gone through it twice even though the very first time was a little too far in memory for him to properly recall.
Despite this, he could endure such pain. Hell, what choice did he have? He just had to go through it… and once it was over, he reckoned the reward was well worth it.
