The sun had long moved past its zenith but its heat stayed as intense as ever, beating down on the phoenix castle relentlessly. The phoenixes that worked outside the castle raised their heads to flaming disc in the sky, curiosity burning deep within their cores.
The sun burned that day… like a banner for the return of a 'dark' past. An usher of a new age… or rather the revival of one long buried.
The first thing most of the phoenixes in the castle heard that day was an explosion. From the South Western part of the castle grounds.
The ones unlucky enough to be close enough to its source found their sight utterly blinded by the intense light of a wave of white scorching flames.
The chaotic boom was quickly followed by violent tremours that shook the grounds within the Phoenix Barrier, shaking the walls and shattering windows with the decimating force of an earthquake.
