Arthur followed Mr Claw slowly from behind as the shifter led him out of the Sanctuary, through his cottage and back to the tunnel that had brought him here before this had all began.
His pace laggard and his legs heavy. Aside from having his ear nearly yelled off by the old geezer, Arthur had enjoyed his stay at the Breeding Farm.
It wasn't furnished luxurious furniture, king-sized fluffy beds, warm baths or lavish meals like he was used to... But that hadn't seemed to matter.
Maybe it was because he'd been in the company of beings that bore no malice towards him whatsoever... And yet now, he was to return to the one place that wished he was never born.
A few idle points of conversation flew between the two males. Matters within the castle, a few jokes here and there.
There was a lot left unsaid between Arthur and Claw… but at least there was an understanding that they would see each other again soon enough.
