"Bah! Don't fret, little one. I've come to peace with it. I just never imagined I'd make another friend by the time I left this world," the man brushed Arthur's sentiments off while ushering him out of the secret room.
"A friend? Would you really consider me your friend?" Arthur asked, beaming.
As the feline shifter locked the door, he replied briskly, "You're not getting off that easy for breaking my utensils. I expect full compensation, you spoilt brat!"
Oddly enough, Arthur felt more at ease when the old man was snappy and cussing left and right, "You will receive compensation… as soon as I'm able to get it for you."
Suddenly, Arthur was pensive. He still had no idea what the situation back home would be like.
He had to return to the castle… but how was he to do that, "Hopefully I'll be in time to let everyone know that I'm… y'know, not dead."
