The group slowed down to a jog. The trees were still thick and the canopies even thicker, trying so hard to drown out the morning rays of the sun. The morning was young, however, and as the sun would continue to climb through the sky, the forest would be bound to fill up with resplendent yellow light.
The bustling sounds of the woodland creatures were evident in all forms and volumes, chirps and all, magnifying the sensation of being far away from any civilisation.
Conrad slowed to a walk and then started paying attention to the trees surrounding them. Arthur slowed down as well, then furrowed his brows at the guardian.
Conrad's eyes darted all over the place.
He looked lost and delusional, searching for some sort of imaginary revelation within the bark of the trees surrounding them. Arthur sighed when it started to feel like they'd been walking in circles…
'This is getting ridiculous…' Arthur finally gave up.
