It was a little over two more hours before the first of the hunters made it to the desolate plateau. Arthur had spent his time practising mana manipulation and resisting the urge to kick and squirm under the invasive feeling of the Guide Stone's enchantment.
Several times, he cursed the sensation of having his body ruthlessly invaded and his mind started to get altered.
He'd already faced enough of this during those moments that the 'ancient voice' attacked him, rendering him helpless and completely taking over his body.
At times, Arthur stopped the process just to make sure he was still in control of his own mind before trying once more, resisting the urge to disrupt the Guide Stone's enchantment.
This... was easier said than done... and while success was still miles away, Arthur had started to glean the purpose of the runes engraved beneath the surface of the smooth black stone.
