Arthur spent the next hour in the Headmaster's den inside the IceWing Sanctum, listening to Professor Draul's instructions and reaching for the particles of mana in the air.
He scrunched his eyebrows and grunted as his mind struggled to remain focused.
His fingers twitched as he reached beyond his body to bring in the foreign magic particles that lay dormant in the space around him.
Knowing what mana felt like allowed him to easily identify these particles… but no one ever told him he would have to intentionally suck these particles into his body.
It was a very alien concept.
Fortunately, the IceWing Sanctum had a succulent flow of mana, enveloping the prince and saturating the air with these particles. This would in turn ease his training.
Being a mana vortex had some obvious implications. Since absorbing magic was the basis of their name, Arthur figured this was bound to be the easiest part of his session with Professor Gringer.
