Chapter 1 - He Is Trouble!

NOAH

.

My eyes were glued to the face of the pretty brunette seated across the table from where I sat.

"Do you like the meal?" I asked and she nodded shyly. We were at a restaurant having dinner and the satisfied smile on her face told me that she was having a great time with me. "Would you like to order anything else?"

"No. But why did we have to come all the way out here just for dinner?" She asked with a pout. Her full lips sucked in while she batted her lashes at me. Cara always knew how to get to me and she doesn't fail to let me know that she indeed has a way of making me feel all sorts of emotions when I'm with her.

"I like this place and besides, I have a surprise for you later on so it's only fair that I bring you here for it." I replied casually, twirling the spoon round my fingers in a circular motion.

She arched a brow at me, causing me to smile shyly.

"You're trying to be romantic aren't you?"

"What can I say? I'm your boyfriend to be after all." The words rolled out of my mouth before I could stop them. Cara stared at me with those black orbs that was able to compel a man and make him do sinful things.

It was at that moment that I realized that I had slipped. I had wanted to ask her out as my girlfriend today but I didn't think I'd be the one to ruin the surprise. Dammit! Why am I so bad at being good?

"Was that the surprise?" She arched her brows at me knowingly.

I ducked my head shyly, unable to meet her peering gaze. How on earth did I manage to slip that part out. It was supposed to be a secret.

"Well..." I trailed off, giving the plates on the table a little push to the center "I have two of them but I'm actually glad that I was able to get the first one out. What do you say? Do you accept to be my girlfriend?" I expressed myself, pushing the fear and doubts aside.

She blushed cheekily, the glint of excitement shone in her eyes and I found myself being drawn to them.

"Yes Noah. I'd like to date you too." She responded after a few minutes of silence "You know I thought you'd never ask. We're been friends for as long as I can remember Noah and you're only telling me you want to date me now? I'm so upset." She exclaimed in feigned anger. Her voice resonated with a squeaky sound that had me reeling.

I know that Cara had always had a soft spot for me. She had always given me multiple signs that she wanted to date me. We've been best friends since middle school and I know that most people might think that it's not healthy to date your friend but I think it's sweet. Cara is good enough for me and that's all that matters now.

Reaching out to her hands from across the table, I take them in mine and give it a light squeeze.

"Sorry for taking too long to pop out the question. You have no idea how badly I wanted to tell you."

"You're forgiven Noah. It's fine. So what's the other surprise?"

I looked around the restaurant "Well, it's no big of a deal but dad has agreed for me to complete my senior year at Reefside."

Her hands flew to her mouth and automatically closed it shut. "Oh my goodness Noah! I can't believe that he agreed to it."

"Well it took a lot of convincing but we managed it. As long as I have good grades, he won't complain."

"Finally. So we'll be an official couple and buds at school, I like that."

"Me too." I chimed in agreement.

We finished our meal and I led her outside the restaurant to where my car is parked. We got in and made our way back to town. I needed to drop her off and make my way back home before my curfew elapses.

In less than an hour, I pulled up in front of her apartment and proceeded to open up the car door for her. She stepped down and gave me a quick peck on the cheeks, followed by a warm hug.

"Thank you so much for today Noah."

"No I think—" I was about to respond when a big black bike pillion pulled up In front of us.

Cara rolled her eyes in irritation that we had just be interrupted. The rider of the bike was dressed in a pair of blue ripped jeans, a white top and leather jacket. He pulled off the mask and that was when my eyes came in contact with his. I recognized him immediately. Cara had told me countless stories about her brother but this would be the very first time I've seen him up close. I'm pretty sure that he didn't even recognize me.

"Caden, you always show up at the oddest hours" Cara chided him angrily. Her eyes were a visible reflection of the rage that she was battling underneath.

Hopping down from his bike, he held his helmet in one hand and took slow and steady steps towards us and that was when I took a closer look at the stranger that had ruined our moment. He had black beautiful eyes just like his sister's and his brown hair fell over his face in wet curls probably from the heat of the helmet but still he looked incredibly sexy. He had a tiny piercing at the right corner side of his lower lip and as well as his ears.

Just looking at him, deep down inside me I know it for a fact that he is trouble. He's definitely the wild type that always walked hand in hand with chaos. I rolled my eyes at him unconsciously.

"Hey sis" he pulled Cara in for a side hug and pecked her lightly on the cheek. She brushed him off and wiped her cheeks aggressively with the back of her palm.

"And who is this hot fellow?"

I didn't respond to that question. He can't possibly be talking to me so I simply chose not to answer.

"He's my boyfriend Caden, so get used to it. You're not the only one in the family who has a hot partner now." She announced proudly which brought a forced smile to my lips, brightening up my face in the process.

"I never said I had a partner." He drawled amusingly. His eyes gave me the chills that I felt the fear slowly creeping in. What a weirdo!

Just then, I saw Caden lick his lips slowly in a seductive manner as he stared at me. It was for a brief moment but I'm definitely certain that I wasn't just imagining it.

"You clean up nicely." He told her but his eyes were very much glued to my face as he spoke.

Stretching out his hands to me, he spoke "The name's Caden and you are?"

I stared at his outstretched hand and contemplated if I should take it or not. I chose the latter anyways.

"Noah" I answered, ignoring his outstretched hands by dipping mine down my pockets instead.

He lifted up this hand that I refused to shake and examined it thoroughly. With a smirk, he dipped it right back into his pocket.

"Fiesty aren't we now?" He popped the gum in his mouth loudly and I suddenly felt disgusted by such irritable behavior.

Who chews gum so loudly and not to mention in such a disgusted manner?

"I guess I'll see you tomorrow then?" I directed my question to Cara who nodded instantly in affirmation.

"Don't forget to give me all the juicy details about everything later."

I nodded once and tilted my head forward to kiss her cheeks. She grinned from ear to ear.

"I promise." I whispered in her ears and pulled away. Facing Caden, I found him staring at us with a huge grin on his face.

I rolled my eyes at him and proceeded to get into my ride.

Just as I was about to get in, he whistled loudly, forcing me to look back at him "See you next time, Cara's boyfriend." He said with a smirk.

What is up with this guy. I don't like the fact that he gives me the chills for unknown reasons.

Did I forget to mention that I don't like him? They say that first impressions matters a lot but sadly he disgusts me and to think that he is the brother of my girlfriend now.

Ignoring his statement, I got into the car and drove out of their apartment.

The minute I arrived home, my cellphone vibrated from my pockets.

Staring at the screen, I saw a pop up message from Cara. Just as I was about to respond, another call comes in.

The ID on my phone told me that I'm in trouble. It's dad. Taking a deep breath, I close my eyes for a brief second as I tried to think about what I might've done but my brain comes back blank.

What could be the issue this time around?
