"Stop right there! What are you planning by stealing this artifact?" A kitsune wearing a shrine maiden's garb exclaimed. Her shiny blonde hair fluttered in the strong wind as she tried to stop the Gray-Eyed Girl. Her expression twisted as she saw the perpetrator.
"H-How dare you get in my way, You lowly shrine maiden! This is part of my duty as one of the servants that dwelled inside the Divine Realm!" The Gray-Eyed Girl snarled. Arrows of light started to materialize behind her, all of them being aimed towards the shrine maiden.
"Servant...? Since when did the Deities in the Divine Realm started to recall artifacts? I have never heard of such a thing!" The kitsune was bewildered. She did not know why the girl in front of her was trying to take the artifact away nor if the gray-eyed girl is telling the truth or not. Nevertheless, she cannot let such a thing happen as someone that has been overseeing the place for thousands of years. With a sigh, she slowly recited a spell that caused her fellow shrine maidens to gulp.
"I suggest that you leave this place at once!" The blonde kitsune warned. A huge ball of light materialized above one of her raised fingers, red-colored body markings appeared all over her body as she got ready to launch the projectile at her target.
"P-Please stop! If you use that spell here, this shrine will be destroyed!" The High Priest pleaded. His eyes went wide as he remembered how much power the blonde kitsune held that even he did not want her to use it in such a place.
The Gray-Eyed Girl did not respond. She instead started to glare at the kitsune shrine maiden, her anger became stronger as she saw the spell being conjured. Her own projectiles immediately got launched as she got threatened.
"Hmph! Which is it, Spirit? Make your choice! Lest I make it for you! You have three seconds to give me your response!" The blonde-haired Kitsune taunted. The projectiles bounced off an invisible wall in front of her, it made the attack ineffective.
"That kind of attack won't work, You Fool!" She thought. A sly grin slowly crept on her lips, she found the effectiveness of the assault amusing.
The Gray-Eyed Girl maintained her silent demeanor. Thoughts about how she could deal with this "obstacle" in her way filled her mind with frustration. She was ready to risk her life in order to reclaim the object inside this shrine but she was uncertain if what she was thinking would work or not.
"3...!" The blonde kitsune started. The ball's glow grew brighter as she raised her voice again.
The High Priest clenched his hands together. He started to hope that the spell does not get used inside the city. The cold sweat he experienced got worse as he did this.
"2...!" The blonde kitsune continued. She raised the projectile high up in the air, her body language suggested that she was willing to unleash this devastating attack upon her enemy.
"You sure are taking your sweet time! This is your last chance, Spirit!" The blonde kitsune exclaimed.
"We will take it from here, Nico! You can go ahead and stand down. I can't believe you're still letting our prey get away! You're quite a handful, You know that?" A sudden shout nearby interrupted their battle. A fox-eared girl wearing the same shrine maiden garb approached the shrine's torii gate, a magic circle materialized above her palm as she got closer. Rope-like restraints made of light launched out of the circle on her palm as she aimed it toward their Gray-Eyed target's direction. A audible thud was heard as the perpetrator was captured.
"SSS-Rank, My Ass! This was easy!" The blonde-haired kitsune remarked. She slowly walked towards the Gray-Eyed Girl, she eyed her down. She noticed that the girl in front of her was not one of the Kitsune that worked for thr EIM and sighed.
"I will ask again, why are you trying to take this shrine's artifact?" The blonde kitsune repeated.
"You are still not going to answer me? Fine, we will be forced to take you back to Headquarters then."
A magic circle appeared beneath the blonde kitsune's feet, her partner's, and their target's. After a few moments they were teleported. The odd weather phenomenon disappeared as they left like it never happen.
