Luffy and his crew are currently sailing on the Going Merry towards a floating restaurant that Luffy has heard of. It is rumored that there are many chefs who can fight and in Luffy's mind, that's exactly what he needs.
Luffy is currently sitting at the back of the ship on his throne which he made from thunderclouds. He sat there with a glass of whiskey in it, watching as all the members of his crew were busy with their own activities. Zoro was practicing, Usopp was standing not far from Luffy preparing a cannon ready for testing, and Nami was lying on the beach chair behind Luffy reading a book about navigation.
Luffy looked at the mainmast of the ship and smiled seeing his pirate flag with the Jolly roger he made, fluttering proudly. His jolly roger is a skull shaped mask of a Japanese hannya wearing a straw hat with two lightning symbols in place of the bones in the usual pirate symbol.
Luffy also had Usopp paint a larger version of his jolly roger on the ship's sails, which would scare his enemies from a distance. Luffy then turned towards Usopp and spoke.
"Hey Usopp," he said getting Usopp's attention. "Ready?" he asked. Usopp smiled broadly before he answered.
"Yes, all set," said Usopp before he made a silly pose and started talking again. "Just give me a target and I'll show you what the great Captain Usopp can do!" he said proudly causing Luffy to sigh and take a sip of his whiskey before answering. Luffy looked into the distance and saw a giant boulder on the starboard side of the ship.
"Look over there" Luffy said pointing at the giant boulder. "I want you to shoot the rock," he said. Usopp looked at the rock and started aiming the cannon. Luffy could see he was sweating a bit but didn't say anything. Usopp took aim and fired the cannon.
The cannonball flew through the air before colliding with a rock and sending it shattering to pieces. Luffy smiled when he saw Usopp hit his target, he is a sniper like his father.
All Luffy needs to do is make him stop acting like a coward. "Nice job Usopp" Luffy said congratulating him. Usopp turned to Luffy and smiled and made another goofy pose before he spoke.
"You can only wish the best from the great Captain Usopp!" he announced proudly. Luffy shook his head before he looked at Zoro and shouted.
"Zoros!" he shouted to get Zoro's attention. "Could you come here for a second" he said before looking at Nami and speaking again. "You too Nami" he said causing Nami to close her book and walk towards Luffy. When everyone arrived Luffy stuck his hand into the cloud he was sitting on and took out three bags which clearly had something in them.
"What's with this bag, Captain?" Zoro asked.
"I think it's time to give you all a share of Kuro's bounty" Luffy said making Nami's eyes turn into belly marks. "Kuro's bounty is 16 million and there are four of us. So, 4 million per person" said Luffy as he handed the bag to each of them.
Usopp thanked Luffy and so did Nami, after thanking him, Nami immediately hugged the bag of money, which caused the three people around her to look at her funny. When Luffy handed the bag to Zoro, he took it before talking to Luffy.
"Umm, could you hold my share, for now, Captain?" he asked as he returned the money to Luffy. Luffy nodded and took the money and returned it to the cloud.
Usopp then returned Luffy's money and asked the same thing as Zoro, to which Luffy agreed and then looked at Nami to see if she wanted Luffy to keep it too. Nami shook her head vigorously to say no. Luffy just shrugged before he spoke in a serious voice once again.
"Just so we're clear," said Luffy, getting the attention of his crew. "This is probably one of the few times I will share the Bounty with you guys," said Luffy confusing Nami and Usopp.
"What do you mean Luffy?" she asked.
"As I've told Zoro, any treasure we find and loot from other pirates or marines will be divided equally among the crew. However, any bounty we get from beating someone with a bounty on their head belongs to the person who defeated them." that," said Luffy earning a nod from Usopp and a scowl from Nami who he ignored.
Luffy then stood up causing thunderclouds to rise into the sky before he started walking towards the kitchen. "I'm hungry, let's eat" he said causing all of his crew to follow behind him.
Upon entering the kitchen Luffy sat at the counter and filled his glass before he turned towards Zoro and spoke. "How much food is left?" he asked. Zoro walked over to the fridge and looked inside before he answered.
"We have leftovers for about two days," he said. Luffy nodded his head before he turned towards Nami.
"How long until we reach the restaurant?" he asked. Nami looked outside and saw a map before she answered Luffy's question.
"We'll be there in a few hours if the wind keeps up," he said. Luffy took a sip of his drink before speaking.
"Well, looks like we'll be fine," he said, earning nods from everyone. "If we don't get a chef from the floating restaurant, we will stock up on food there before we continue sailing," said Luffy. Before anyone could say anything they all heard a loud noise outside and a man screaming.
"Get out you damn pirates!" a man shouted from outside startling the crew. Luffy stood up and walked out of the kitchen to see who thought it was a good idea to attack his ship. When he opened the door and looked out on the deck, he saw a very angry man holding a sword staring at him.
"You better have a good reason for being on my ship," said Luffy threateningly as he jumped down from the upper deck. The man stood in front of Luffy with his sword raised in the air and shouted.
"And now you think you can kill my partner!" he shouted as he swung his sword to cut Luffy in half. Luffy easily saw the swing coming and dodged the sword swing.
However, as he stepped away, the man's sword hit one of the ship's rails effectively damaging it and much to Luffy's annoyance. Luffy teleported in front of the man, and Luffy's actions startled the man before he grabbed him by the head and threw him across the ship causing him to crash into the captain's quarters wall.
Luffy looked up at the upper deck and saw Zoro walking towards the edge of the railing to see who Luffy was fighting. Zoro saw the man and his eyes immediately widened, causing Luffy to raise an eyebrow at Zoro's reaction. Before Luffy could ask him about it Zoro spoke.
"Johnny, is that you?" Zoro asked while looking at the man now named Johnny with a surprised look on his face. "Where's Yosaku?" Zoro asked again before the man, Johnny, could answer the first question. Johnny looked at Zoro from his position on the floor to see who had called his name.
When he saw Zoro, he immediately got up and spoke to Zoro.
"Zoro Aniki!?" he shouted / asked. "Why are you on a pirate ship?" he asked again. Zoro sighed before speaking again.
"Could you calm down for a moment" Zoro said as he started walking down the stairs. "Where's Yosaku?" Zoro asked again. Johnny then started crying before he ran to the side of the ship causing Luffy and Zoro to follow him. Then when they got there they saw a man lying in a small boat, looking sick.
"He's sick," said Johnny. Zoro sighed, then he turned towards Luffy who just nodded at Zoro before walking away. Zoro then turned back to Johnny and spoke.
"Take him aboard" Zoro said to Johnny causing him to nod quickly, As Johnny jumped off the going merry boat to take his friend, Luffy spoke to Zoro.
"I think you know these two people?" Luffy asked as he sat on a nearby barrel. Zoro sighed and walked over to Luffy before he spoke.
"Yeah, I met them a while back when I was still a bounty hunter" he said causing Luffy to nod his head. "They are good people," said Zoro while watching Johnny drag Yosaku's body to the ship. Zoro then walked up to them and spoke. "Why did he become like this?" he asked.
"A few days ago, he was still healthy and fit. And now he often faints and pale," said Johnny who was very emotional. Nami and Usopp had just arrived next to Luffy and Zoro on the deck of the ship, when Johnny explained what was wrong with Yosaku.
"So I thought maybe we should take a break on a small island, but then a cannonball was fired from this ship" he said causing Luffy's and Usopp's eyes to widen. Luffy gave a nervous laugh before he spoke.
"Yeah, sorry about that," said Luffy as he stood up from the barrel and walked over to Johnny while ignoring Usopp's quick apology. "Don't worry about your friend" Luffy said causing Zoro and Johnny to stare at him, waiting for him to explain what he meant by that.
Luffy then turned towards Usopp and gave an order. "Go to the kitchen and take all the oranges we have" he said causing Usopp to nod his head quickly before he ran into the kitchen.
"What is suffered by Yosaku?" Johnny asked Luffy. Luffy turned towards him and was about to speak but Nami got ahead of him.
"He's got Scurvy" he said making Johnny look at Luffy to see his reaction, and Luffy just nodded. When Usopp returned, Luffy told him to squeeze orange juice into Yosaku's mouth. Usopp immediately squeezed the oranges while Luffy returned to sit on the previous barrel.
"Scurvy is caused by a lack of plant-derived nutrients like vitamin C," said Luffy from his position. "You and your friends are two morons" Luffy said surprising Zoro, Usopp, and Johnny while Nami just nodded her head in agreement.
"Every sailor should know about scurvy before they go out to sea you moron" Luffy said causing Johnny to look down in embarrassment. "But don't worry your friend will live" he said causing Johnny and Zoro to smile brightly.
Just as Luffy finished speaking Yosaku jumped into a sitting position before looking around him trying to figure out where he was. When her eyes fell on Johnny she smiled and got up and started dancing with Johnny.
"I'm cured!" Yosaku shouted as he and Johnny danced. Luffy sighed and looked at Nami and nodded. Nami then slammed them both over the head and started scolding them about scurvy not being able to heal that fast. When Nami scolded them, Yosaku fainted again. Luffy sighed and looked at Zoro.
"Take him inside so he can rest" Luffy said getting a nod from Zoro. Luffy then walked back to the back of the deck and summoned his cloud throne again and sat down. Johnny, Zoro, Nami, and Usopp soon joined Luffy at the back of the ship.
Luffy then turned towards Nami and asked a question. "How long until we get there?" he asked. Nami looked at the front of the ship and answered.
"Looks like less than an hour," he said, gesturing into the distance ahead of the ship.
