All of the workers rushed over. Even the harsh Sharon Toll got out of her office and asked, "Joanna Bloom, did you just have lunch with the Boss?"
Joanna Bloom heard the question and thought about it for a while. If she said no then it would not really look good on her image. Many people believed that she and Alexander Sterling were an item so she took this chance to subtly confirm, "Well…"
She left the people hanging but they understood her bashfulness. One worker commented, "The boss is so good to you! If you make it big later do not forget us!"
Another commented, "When will the wedding bells ring? Make sure you invite us if that happens!"
Joanna Bloom blushed but said nothing.
Ariana Stephens was just coming from the washrooms when she saw this scene. She went over and picked five boxes for the rest of her team while also listening to the gossip.
Once she returned to where her team was, she placed the lunchboxes down and exclaimed, "The boss has sent lunch over!"
Stanley Park and the others quickly took the lunchboxes. Cindy Richards on the other hand stayed where she was sitting. She quickly took out her phone and saw the many missed calls from Alexander Sterling. She had actually forgotten that they had a lunch appointment!
Paul Jobs nudged her, "Miss Cindy, are you not going to take the box?"
This was the first time Paul Jobs had spoken to her ever since she came. She smiled, "I will."
It seemed as if Alexander Sterling was worried and sent lunch over but he could not send just one and instead sent it to the others as well.
She was just about to pick the box when Ariana Stephens said, "Do you know, I heard that the boss was having lunch with Joanna Bloom and she was the one who asked him to buy lunch for each and every one of us because we are so busy?"
Her hand that was holding the plate stilled and a chill spread inside her heart.
Alexander Sterling just had lunch with Joanna Bloom? Then why did he call her? Was it to show off how much he cared for Joanna Bloom?
She thought that the lunch was sent up because of her but it turned out that it was because of another woman! How laughable!
She placed the box down and looked at Ariana Stephens, "I am not really hungry so I will pass. I have to go to the bathroom."
She suddenly felt like crying. Ariana Stephens watched her back and turned to the other men, "What is wrong with her?"
Paul Jobs was the one who answered slowly, "Who knows?"
Cindy Richards walked towards the bathroom quickly. She did not know why she was feeling this way. She had even asked Alexander Sterling if she could introduce some women to him yet now that she heard there was a woman he may like, she felt as if her world was crumbling down
Their marriage was only going to last a year and they had to go their separate ways after that. Looks like Alexander Sterling was already preparing for that. Cindy Richards felt as if her heart was being stabbed repeatedly at the thought.
She washed her face with running water and stared herself in the mirror for a good while. He had probably never liked her, she thought and that made her look very pitiful.
Someone got in the bathroom and took the sink next to her. Cindy Richards did not even notice until the person bent over and closed her tap. Cindy Richards was brought back and she looked up to see a rather pretty woman. She apologized immediately, "Sorry, I was a bit distracted."
The woman regarded her weirdly, "So, you are the new intern I heard about?"
Cindy Richards nodded absentmindedly, "Hello, I am Cindy Richards."
The woman nodded, "And I am Joanna Bloom."
Cindy Richards immediately looked up. Joanna Bloom was very pretty. That was the first thing that came to her mind. She was very fashionable and her hair and makeup were flawless. Cindy Richards looked at the simple suit she was wearing and at the exquisite clothes, Joanna Bloom was wearing and fought back the urge to chuckle.
So he liked them this way.
Joanna Bloom did not like that the other was not paying attention to her so she said something very derogatory, "I heard you slept with someone to get in her."
Cindy Richards quickly looked up, "And who told you that?"
Joanna Bloom also didn't like people questioning her. She sneered, "Or else how would you come to such a company at such a time? Internships are not accepted until September yet you were able to get in here at such a time. If you did not sleep with someone then how could you have gotten in?"
Cindy Richards did not like others looking down on her. She was quite a noble lady and arguing about what was wrong or right was also not her style so she said, "Believe what you want to believe, anyway, you were not the one I slept with so it is none of your business!"
Joanna Bloom was angered. She shouted, "You!"
Cindy Richards did not want to deal with her anymore. She was already quite mad that the woman had been taken to lunch with Alexander Sterling and now she was speaking to her in such a tone. She quickly wiped her hands and proceeded to get out but Joanna Bloom was not done with her.
"Do you think you can survive here with that attitude? Let me tell you, I will make sure you regret it!"
Cindy Richards was really holding herself back from exploding so she said, "Because you have the Boss backing you up?"
Joanna Bloom laughed, "So you already know. Just imagine what he would do if I told him you spoke to me in such a tone?"
Cindy Richards sneered, "Then go and tell him but I heard that he was already married so if he is seeing you then you must be a mistress. If word gets out then you will lose so much face!"
Joanna Bloom shouted, "Cindy Richards!"
