Lawson quickly interrupted, “please don’t talk like this Stephnie, everybody needs money and you are no exception. I’m giving you this money with no strings attached, I cross my heart.” He brought out two bundles of hundred dollars notes, and Stephnie knew by her calculation that he was holding twenty thousand dollars. “Here, take this Stephnie, I hope this will help, I can get you more, but for now I hope this will ease your needs.” He smiled.
Stephnie wondered how he knew she was in need, who was gossiping about her she thought worriedly or was it her constant phone calls?
