Chapter 34 - Order Vs Chaos

I floated before the Chaos Dragon, a being of destruction and disarray looming high above my head. Its eyes glowed with an eerie green fire, its scales crackling with chaotic energy. Its voice seemed to rumble from the very depths of chaos itself as it spoke in a low growl. "You have taken this seriously now, but if not, I shall reduce the rest of the city to rubble!" Then, with a deafening roar that shook the air around me, the Chaos Dragon released its full power. Every cell of my body quivered under the force of its chaotic might.

All around the edges of the city that we were close to, cries of other Mechanized could be heard off in the distance. That was not a good sign, and now it was a race against the clock to finish this fight.

"I am the embodiment of chaos and destruction, and my ultimate wish is to bring about pandemonium and ruin. All will cower before me as I unleash unbridled chaos upon this world! Release all you have, Chaos Trigger, or suffer eternal destruction beneath my wings. There shall be no salvation, only devastation! If you do not, I will destroy everything!" The Chaos Dragon roared, its voice echoing menacingly throughout the realm. Its great wings spread out wide, and a fierce blaze erupted from its claws, threatening to consume everything in its path.

Without hesitation, I soared after the Chaos Dragon, knowing now was the moment of truth. The lives of this world were at stake, and its fate was in the balance. It all came down to one final clash between order and chaos.

As we met in the sky, my smaller form clashed with the colossal one with devastating force. The Chaos Dragon unleashed its full arsenal of weapons, from razor-sharp claws to torrents of missiles and entropic energy beams. However, thanks to my newly enhanced Mecha form and the power of the Chaos Trigger, I found myself able to withstand and counter each attack.

"You can't win!" it roared, frustration seeping into its multitude of pained voices as it desperately sought to break through my defenses.

"With every strike you make, every ounce of destruction you sow, I grow stronger. Chaos may be your domain, but I am its master!" I shouted back defiantly, launching another barrage of chaotic energy-infused blades at the monstrous creature.

Our battle raged on, both of us giving everything we had in a desperate struggle for supremacy. All around us, the city trembled beneath the weight of our conflict, and I knew that I had to end this soon before more innocent lives were lost.

Summoning every last reserve of strength and determination, I tapped into the very heart of the Chaos Trigger, unleashing a torrential wave of pure, undiluted chaos upon the dragon. Its anguished screams filled the air as it attempted to resist the onslaught, but ultimately, it could not stand against the sheer, unbridled might of my power.

Spinning through the blast, and with one final, triumphant roar, I struck the decisive blow, tearing through the heart of the Chaos Dragon and banishing the twisted entity back into the depths of entropy.

As its monstrous form dissolved into tendrils of dissipating chaos, I felt an immense surge of relief wash over me. The world had been saved, if at a terrible cost, and I had succeeded in my mission.

I allowed myself to plummet back towards earth, my Mecha form beginning to fade as the virus receded. The chaos within me quieted, allowing me to return to some semblance of normalcy.

As I landed amidst the wreckage of the city, battered but triumphant, dozens of survivors began to emerge from their hiding places. They stared at me with a mixture of awe, fear, and gratitude, unsure what to make of the angelic destroyer who had just saved them from certain annihilation.

For a moment, I stood there, taking in the full weight of what I had accomplished – and what it had cost. So many lives had been lost, and even more, would bear the scars of this day for years to come. But ultimately, the world had been saved from an even worse fate, and that was something worth fighting for.

With a solemn nod, I turned away from the crowd, knowing that my work here was done. As I prepared to walk off, I felt a familiar presence beside me: Grimora. She looked at me with a mix of admiration and sadness, clearly aware of the great sacrifices we had made.

"Thank you," she whispered softly, her voice almost lost amidst the sound of crackling fires and crumbling buildings. "You've helped me fulfill my purpose, but now... I don't know what will happen to me."

I smiled at her, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Helena will be pleased with your efforts, and I'm sure you'll find a new path to follow. You're strong, Grimora, and you have so much potential."

Her eyes filled with tears, but she nodded, offering me a shaky smile. "I hope so. And perhaps our paths will cross again someday, Chaos Trigger."

"I do owe you a flavor, so try to give me a few days before your next attempt, and I will join you to take down your target," I said, but the light from the world around us was starting to fade.

Grimora never replied as she faded into the black, and soon I was alone again. This time had been different, and I felt like I had actually helped the world by getting rid of Ace. Still, Chaos bothered me.

I knew this was only our first meeting, but I knew it was so very far from my last. Fighting with Chaos had given me the feeling of fighting my opposite. It wanted nothing more than for the world to burn and chaos to reign. The problem was that it had told me that it wouldn't attack the city if I gave it my everything. For something that wanted to see the world burn, that line of thinking just didn't make sense. I might be overthinking it, considering what I had just been through.

Suddenly, a light appeared, and a very human and sad-looking Ace was standing alone. I couldn't help but feel a bit guilty for what I had done to him, but this would give Helena a good advantage. The more burden Ace had coming from his old world, the greater blessing the Divine being guiding him could give him.

"What did I do to deserve this end?" Ace asked, looking down at his hands. "Why am I even still existing?"

In response, another light appeared, with Helena looking gorgeous in a heavenly white gown laced with gold. "Life's trial will only serve to make you stronger in your next. My name is Helena, and I am here to guide you to your next life."

"Me? Why would you choose someone like me?!" Ace demanded. "Look at the mess that I just made!"

"Come with me. You will learn from your mistakes and grow to become a hero adored by all. There is a world that is in great danger, and only you can save it." Helena said, and then two of them slowly disappeared. "I shall grant you the blessing of…."

I let out a long and exhausted sigh as Helena's voice trailed off before I could hear the blessing, and my body also started to disappear. I closed my eyes and let my mind relax. This had taken a tremendous amount of effort compared to my first target, but the job was done, and it was time to jump into the next life.

Aquaria was waiting.
