Chapter 2 - chapter two

The headset was shaped like a visor, so quite compact, also having a black and red colour scheme.

As he lied down on his mattress that didn't have a bedframe, he got more and more excited by the second.

"come on, COME ON! oh it's star-"

the second the headset booted up, his eyes turned dead and his body limp.

[welcome to L.I.F.E Online! you have pre-ordered the basic package, resulting in you starting with nothing! but please do not fret as there are quests you can do to gain money and items!!

please create your character]

The voice that seemed like that of a goddess, gentle and loving, was accompanied by me in an ethereal form, with my surroundings looking like some holy ground or something like Valhalla.

Though after the miss goddess said 'create your character' a sudden red light enveloped me, and transported me to a place that reflected what I looked like and a menu to the side of it.

"well this is the first normal game thing, a character customisation menu!! also that immersion is no joke, almost thought I got isekaid and god listened to my persistent nagging...eh not like that's a bad thing, now let's create the most badass character possible!"

Gent's features were actually suited for the character he wanted anyway, though best to make some alterations for perfection of the character.

His face was symmetrical to a scary degree, his eyes a vibrant yellow, to the point of being golden, his height was above average at 6'2 with a decent build, not too skinny or fat, though he gave himself some muscles that weren't too pronounced or small which gave him the body of an athlete swimmer.

His hair used to be blond. though now he made it a pure black.

There were many races to choose from, though he immediately chose human, telling himself that he wanted to be a human to show that he doesn't have to rely on his race to dominate, well that as well as the fact that he doesn't wish to read through all those races and just wants to play the damn game.

[Congratulations on creating your character, now you need to create your name and then you're done!!]

"finally, my name shall be Gentle-Death as I'll be gentle to good people and my adversaries shall fear me as death!!"

Saying that overly edgy phrase, a sudden light appeared again, this time it was a dazzling white light pulled him down to the world below.

Forests that were bigger than a DAMM country's capital, deserts that were as unending as the sea. as the sea appeared as a pristine and gentle blue, until you notice the behemoth sized dark patches that move...this is most probably the games intro sequence to show case the main biome's.

Gent- was appearing calm and unmoving as he plummeted to the earth, but what of his thoughts?

'SHIT, SHIT IM GONNA DI- oh is that a bird in the distance-NO ITS A DAMM DRAGON, NO NO NOOOOO-'

As he was being a bitch in his mind, the earth seemed to miss him and wanted a hug, but as if jealous of their intimacy, the wind stopped his fall, gently landing him on his feet.

Looking around he saw a medieval Europe type village with fantasy screaming out of every brick around.

[Starting quest: please complete the tutorial!]

"as you wish. I shall start my ventures from henceforth."

The larping has begun.

'alright, so I'm a badass character, meaning I'm always composed, polite, smart and strong'

He read the tutorial after finishing his mental preparations, which read { Go to the training area for your basic training, then defeat 20 monsters of the forest of ease}

' alrighty then, let's first head cover to this training area'

Good thing he was dropped off in front of it, or he'd miss it entirely, as the training area was just an open, fenced in, dirt patch with an assortment of dummies and weapons.

" hello, you may call me whatever, but the goddess wants me to give you basic training and then show you the way to the nearby forest, please grab one of the training weapon's to begin"

' what's the coolest weapon...'

He walked to the vast weapon rack and grabbed a rapier, his thinking being that people who use rapiers look majestic and elegant, especially how they dodge attacks by barely moving just to strike 10 times in vital spots faster than the eye can actually see, then turning around as the body suddenly turns to a bloody mess, riddled with holes and then they collapse as the fencer walks away.

'thats gonna be me...yesss'

He walked in front of the dummy and listened to the trainer.

"please attack the dummy 100 times, I'll be checking your form and correcting it at every mistake".

'alright. one arm behind the back, left foot ahead of the right and put your body weight into every thrust'.

as he recited what he had seen in the animes he's seen, he begins to attack, sometimes stumbling and missing, plus the occasional stumble.

"for that weapon, it's best to have a footing that allows one to pivot, as well to keep your arm stable and straight as you attack, also you should try to not lean into the strikes, as that will leave you vulnerable, it's better to aim for weak points that don't require much strength to break whilst keeping both you and your blade as nimble as possible."

This continued, Gent correcting himself at every word said, though his swordsmanship was still rather poor but vastly better.

After repeating the training a couple times, he got the hang of it.

[pathetic swordsmanship acquired!!]

'well that's just degrading. damn game. ah well it was pretty fun and overall a good experience, even if that damn meathead instructor kept nagging me'

"congrats, you're probably good enough to survive the next part"

"of course, a mere forest can't survive my blade."

"shut up and get going, ya damn pissant."

"vulgar language, fitting for an oath such as yourself"

'hah!, damn NPC talking to me like that, enjoy your eternal tutorial guide job'

[The trainer has been angered by your insults, now challenging you to a duel]

'HUH!'
