Chapter 8 - What a luck!

Viel stared at his Soul Book with excitement, but at the same time, he was afraid. What if Eriol or someone finds the Omnipotent Being's blessings.

Although his stats had remained the same, he discovered the special ability Max gave him as well as a Primal rank body constitution that he never had before.

After reading the information in his Soul Book, Lux held Eriol's hand and thanked him profusely for what he had done for him and his brother.

"Thank you!" Lux bowed repeatedly. "With this, I can repay Grandma for raising me and big brother for staying with me. I am no longer useless!"

Eriol and Viel could only smile at Lux's passionate act of gratitude.

"Lux, I think you're having a very big misunderstanding here," Eriol replied. "Those abilities were rightfully yours from the start. However, due to what happened in the Heavenly Domain your soul was damaged, preventing you from using the blessings that my best friend, Macuilxochitl, had bestowed upon you. I am merely setting the record straight."

"Don't worry. I have a task for you to do," Eriol said as he raised his head to stare at Lux's light-green eyes. "But for that to happen, you need to get the qualifications to enter Elysium. Even if your body has now synchronized with your soul, you are far too weak to accomplish anything in that world. " Hearing this Viel nodded, his brother was too weak to enter Elysium. If he entered now he would be nothing more than monster food.

"I also know that both of you're starting late when compared to your peers, so I'm going to give you a freebie as well to help you catch up," Eriol said as he summoned a golden ticket in his hand. "Are you familiar with Gacha Games?"

"Of course." answered Viel, before Lux started his profound meditation about Gacha Games and its players.

"Well anyway, the reason why I asked is that this golden ticket in my hand will allow you to do a free pull on a gacha draw," Eriol said. "Of course, since this is a golden ticket, you are guaranteed to get one SSR weapon, artifact, or character."

"You're giving it to us for free?" Lux stared at the golden ticket like a hungry beast. Only those who had played gacha games would understand how tempting it was to get a free gacha draw with a guaranteed SSR Item.

"Yes," Eriol nodded. "I'm sure that you already know that there are three types of rarity that you can get from Gacha games. Rare (R), Super Rare (SR), and Super Super Rare (SSR). If we are going to convert the rarity of these items to the terms used in your world, they would be called Rare, Unique, and Mythical.

"Just like normal gacha games, these items correspond to colors as well, which are blue, purple, and gold respectively. The good news about these items is that you can use them inside and outside Elysium. Now, here is your golden ticket."

The God of Games handed the ticket to Lux and Viel.

"Can we use it as we like?" Viel asked.

"Of course." Eriol replied with a smile.

Viel pressed the ticket with his hands waiting for something to happen. When he thought that the idea he had was impossible, a notification rang inside of his head.

< Gaming Divine energy detected >

< The energy is manifested in the form of a ticket, would you like to absorb it? >

< Yes/No >

'Yes' said Viel inside his head

< Congratulations, you have absorbed the Ticket of Eriol >

< Now you will be able to pull a gacha every time you fill-up the divine energy pool >

< Right now the pool is filled and has Golden Rank >

'Copy' thought Viel while looking at Lux, wanting to check if his plan would work.

< What do you want to Copy >

Waiting to see if it would work, Viel heard another notification that make him wanna cry tears of joy

< Skill Evolution [EX] detected a new Skill. >

–Every time you fill-up the Ticket with divine energy, you will be able to pull a Gacha.

Happy, Viel invoked a golden ticket and threw it in the air.

The golden ticket glowed brightly and turned into a golden orb of light.

Suddenly, the orb shattered and ten smaller orbs of different colors descended from the sky. They stopped two meters away from Viel and hovered around him, forming an encirclement.

Lux looked around him and saw four blue orbs, three purple orbs, and three golden orbs.

The first things he checked were, of course, the three golden orbs that contained Mythical Items.

When his hand touched one of the Golden Orbs, it immediately changed its shape and transformed into a white book with detailed golden carvings.

A series of texts appeared in Viel's vision as he read the information about the Mythical Item that he had acquired.

< Skill Book of Animancy>

Rarity: Mythical

Type: Skill Book (Consumable)

Requirement: Dark and Light Magic Affinity

– Allows you to learn Animancy Magic

– Only those who have an affinity with Dark and Light Magic will be able to learn the Arts of Animancy.

-- This Item is Soulbound to Viel Von Kaizer

"You got really lucky with that one," Eriol commented as he floated beside Viel. "The animancy arts have long been lost in history. The first animancer was the one who created a path for Necromancers and Priests, before his disciples killed him."

"Animancy…What does it do?" Viel asked Eriol."

Eriol smirked, "If necromancy is the art of death, then Animancy is the art of life, but at the same time it doesn't"

Viel could only look at Eriol not understanding what he meant.

"Animancy is a power capable of manipulating life and souls. Both creating and destroying them. Creating souls, even if it is through a medium, is a very awesome feat. Also, not all people have an affinity for life and death magic along with a powerful soul at the same time."

Eriol paused. "If your soul is not strong enough, the will of other souls will overpower yours and destroy it."

"Okay, what an interesting class. And what about the affinity?" Viel asked.

Although he passed the test and meet the requirements to enter Elysium, his magic affinity still hadn't been tested because he wanted to wait for his brother.

Everyone born in the world of Solais had the opportunity to learn skills by consuming Beast Cores inside Elysium. The only problem was that they could only learn the skills that matched their affinity.

There was simply no way for someone to cast the skill, Fireball if they didn't have an affinity with Fire Magic.

Fortunately, those that weren't born with any affinities were still able to learn certain skills that fell under the Non-Elemental category.

Skills like Slash, Long Jump, and Power Shot, were all Non-Elemental skills. These skills could be learned by anyone. Hence, they were often called Universal Skills.

Some powerful skills that could be obtained from Beast Cores, had a very low chance of being acquired. There were even rumors that learning skills also depended on a person's luck.

Skill Books could also be found on Elysium, but they are very rare. Most of them were found inside treasure chests, and auctioned at very high prices.

"Right, you still haven't checked your affinity." Eriol smiled. "This is a good opportunity to do so. However, since the things you acquired in the Gatcha were due to my golden ticket, there is a high chance that you are capable of wielding Dark and Light Magic."

The God of Games took out a white crystal ball and presented it to Viel.

"Touch it," Eriol said. "Usually affinities are decided by your Body Constitution, and you acquired the Crimson Canvas' Legacy Physique, so I'm curious to know the results."

Viel placed his hand over the white crystal ball. A few seconds later, the crystal ball glowed and shot out a beam of light.

A projection of seven glowing orbs of different colors appeared in front of Lux and Eriol, and the God of Games smirked after seeing it.

Three big orbs surrounded by four smaller ones appeared in their vision. The big orbs were a Dark Orb, a White Orb and a Crimson Red Orb.

"As expected of a Primal Legacy," Eriol commented. "Well, as you can see, your main attributes are Dark Magic, Light Magic and Blood Magic. With this, you will have no issue learning that Animancy Skill Book.

"You also have lesser affinities to Fire, Wind, Earth, and Water. This means that you can use low-level up to mid-tier Elemental Magic of the four elements. I'm guessing that these lesser affinities of yours will get a boost once you upgrade your Body Constitution. If you don't die after entering Elysium then your future is very bright."

"Very, very good," Viel said with a smirk. "This will make things easier."

Eriol nodded. He couldn't deny that Lux had indeed hit the jackpot when he randomly acquired the Crimson Canvas' Legacy as his body constitution.

"Well, time for the next item…" Viel said as he pressed his hand over another golden orb beside him.

The orb glowed brightly before transforming into a black ring. The Mythical-rank ring was made of a rare black silver that shimmered in the light with an otherworldly gleam. The band of the ring was adorned with tiny skulls, each one intricately crafted to capture the finest details of bone and teeth. The skulls seemed to stare out at the world with hollow eyes, as if guarding the power of the ring. And at the center of it, was a golden cross that emanated an aura of death.

"Ok, now this is surprising." Eriol said. He then looked at the black ring in Viel's hand with a complicated expression on his face. "Seriously, I don't know if you are lucky or unlucky to get this thing."

"What kind of item is it?" Viel asked.

Eriol sighed. "It will be best if you read the information instead of asking me"

Viel nodded his head as he looked at the black ring to read its information.

'Isn't this item a little too OP?' Viel thought as he stared at the black ring that was floating in front of him. Although he couldn't use it right now because his stats didn't meet the requirements, he was confident that once he was able to use this artifact, his offensive capabilities would drastically increase.

But he couldn't stop thinking about the sacrifice needed, he will need to think about this more profusely.
