"What exactly do you think this will prove?" Xavier questioned.
"If I can beat you, I am sure you will trust me to be able to handle myself out there."
After what felt like minutes of silence, Xavier sighed audibly, glancing at everyone soon after. Stepping forward, his expression said everything. He didn't want to do this, but he was going to do it anyways.
"If you believe you can really handle yourself out there with this, then bring it on," Xavier spoke, clenching his sword tight.
"This is not only to show you that, it is also to prove myself right here and now."
Xavier chuckled soon after, not to show disrespect but to show he was curious about how he intended to win this duel. With his opportunity right in front of him to grasp, Neal stood in a fighting stance awaiting his attack.
He could tell straight away that this battle would be unlike any he had had before. The Beserker Combat class was one he knew only little about. This knowledge though was not concerned with the fight in any way. One thing was obvious to him though, this was going to be a very physical battle.
With no form of delay, Xavier got into position, bursting forward at a speed Neal failed to anticipate. In an instant, his opponents massive sword knocked his blades out of his hand, shocking him.
From what he could see, the massive armor he had on did nothing to hamper his speed at all. Xavier's agility was impressive; however, it was not greater than his.
Neal making use of this advantage made swift calculated movements, knocking the sword out of his opponents hand. All in order to make things even. He soon found out that this was not the case though, when a massive right hook almost connected to his face.
In response, Neal launched a kick which was ultimately defended. Left wide open, Xavier grabbed his ankle lifting him high in the air. From the sight in front of everyone, it was obvious who had the power advantage.
Out of the blue, Neal used this to his advantage, locking his opponent in a submission. Using his body weight to his advantage, Xavier was challenged on how he would escape.
"Is that a triangle choke hold? But I don't remember ever teaching him something like that," Maya looked on in disbelief.
The fact that he came across this knowledge by himself did nothing but astonish her.
Within a few seconds, Xavier overcame the submission by rising him in the air once again. Even at this point, Neal saw just how much strength played a role in this fight.
Attempting to deliver a punch to Neal once more, he was only caught in a different submission once again. This brought him into a tough position, just like before.
"What? A guillotine?" Maya stated even more perplexed.
This didn't last long though as Xavier would break free tossing him to the side. As if everything was planned, Neal dashed to his daggers, grabbing hold of them.
In an instant, his impressive agility would shine as he overwhelmed his opponents with a barrage of strikes. Instinctively, Xavier covered his vital spots to avoid losing the fight. At this moment, Neal could not help but notice how tough the opponent's skin was to damage. Bombarding Xavier with slash after slash, he was soon pushed back by a spike to the chest.
Grabbing his massive blade, he would launch forward once again, delivering a strike that shot Neal's daggers from his palms. The stinging feeling that emitted from his palms afterward, only left him wide open. In a quick motion, Xavier proceeded to pin him to the ground his hand, pointing the sword at his face.
"This fight is over. You lose," Xavier spoke as he stared deep into the eyes of Neal.
With this, he believed that Neal would have to come to terms that he was not prepared for whatever was out there.
"Damn it," Neal expressed with a pained expression.
"You did well in a fight against me, a human. How do you think you would do against a monster that is stronger than me?"
Just then, the pained expression he once had vanished. Never seeing it in this manner, Neal could not help but concede. Aware that he had no intention of arguing anymore, Xavier stood up walking towards the dungeon. However not before saying something that stuck with Neal.
"Don't forget, we are also doing this for you. Just wait patiently on till we return. It will be all worth it."
Going through the passageway, Xavier left the group with Neal. With Maya, Marcus and Luke giving a proud smile, they left into the dungeon as well. Evans who was left walked up to him with a smile similar to that of the others.
"Evans, I am sorry. I failed once again," Neal stated full of rue.
"You didn't fail. As long as you know why you are fighting, you will become stronger than ever before. Just wait until we return Neal, we will leave this tower, together."
Placing his fist out, Neal laughed softly. He could not believe he was doing such a thing at a time like this. Responding with a fist of his own, the duo fist bumped before Evans proceeded to leave the area.
Now left to himself, Neal decided to do as he was told. He was going to wait until they returned; however, he also decided to train while they were away.
Xavier who was ahead of the group in the passageway could not help but smile at the realization that Neal was indeed becoming stronger.
"Seems I was wrong about you kid. With this, I think I finally let go of the past. Thank you, Neal. When I return i will make everything right.
