As we rode along on Shyla and Labuff, Elara, Zulu, and Shiva continued their playful banter, with each of the girls taking turns speaking through Elara's body.
"So," began Shiva, her voice shy and sweet, "did you guys hear about the monster who opened a comedy club?"
"No, please don't," groaned Zulu, rolling her eyes even though it was Elara's that made the motion.
"Wait, wait, let her have her fun," I interjected, grinning mischievously, eager to see where this was going.
Shiva giggled before finishing the punchline. "It was called 'The Laughing Tentacle!'"
We all shared an awkward laugh as Zulu took control again. "Alright, alright, fine. Here's one for you: Why did the werewolf go to night school?"
Elara's voice shifted back to Shiva, who asked eagerly, "Why did he go to night school?"
Zulu revealed the punchline with a smirk. "Because he wanted to learn how to moonwalk!"
