Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

I made my way to the classroom and saw Mr Jerry already teaching.

He noticed me enter but didn't pause or acknowledge my presence, continuing with the lesson. I walked to my seat, feeling slightly embarrassed for being late.

I sat down quietly and looked around to see if Jessica was in school.

I realized she was also looking towards my direction. Our eyes met and she smiled at me, and I smiled back before turning my attention to Mr. Jerry, who was teaching Maths that morning.

After two hours of teaching, Mr. Jerry left the class, giving us time to work on the assignment he left before going out.

"I heard you were late for Mr Jerry's class, Bella," Jessica said as she approached my desk and sat on it to chat with me.

"Yeah, I overslept," I replied as she took out her phone from her pocket and showed me a picture of someone she was following on Instagram.

"Check this out, Bella. How do you see him?" she asked, expecting me to give her an answer.

"Normal," I told her, and she looked at the picture again before looking back at me with surprise. "Seriously, Bella? I thought you would say he's cute, hot, and attractive.

You used to like cute and handsome guys with curly black hair," she added, trying to figure out my changed taste in men.

"That was before, darling, but not anymore. I'm not interested in those things now," I said, closing my book after completing my assignment.

Jessica was aware of why I gave that answer but still decided to ask me questions that I wasn't prepared to answer.

"Is it because of Edwards that you seem not to be interested in those things anymore?" she questioned me, but I remained silent and didn't respond.

"Bella, Edwards is in the past now. Forget all that happened between both of you and move on," she said reassuringly.

"I looked at her," I began, "Move on, you say?" Jessica nodded her head in agreement, and I continued. "I'm not sure I would be ready to go into any relationship again, even if I wanted to."

Jessica was about to speak, but I cut her off. "No more questions, please. Don't ask me anything further."

With that, I left the class and went to the girls' washroom, locking myself inside. I began to cry uncontrollably, not knowing what was wrong with me. Edwards had taken all my happiness away, and I couldn't stop thinking about him.

Every time I remembered the memories we had shared, it hurt me deeply. I didn't understand why I kept holding onto them, and this made me cry even more until I couldn't cry anymore.

I washed my face so that Jessy and Alice wouldn't suspect that I had cried again, since I had promised them that I wouldn't cry over Edwards anymore.

After cleaning my face with a towel, I tried putting a smile on my face and ran my hands through my blonde hair.

I then walked out of the room and headed towards the canteen, where Alice and Jessy were already having their lunch. I joined them and tried to force a smile on my face, but I couldn't.

I noticed that both of them were staring at me, clearly curious about my state.

"You're not good at faking smiles, so stop trying," my little sister remarked, and Jessy chimed in, "She's probably been crying again.

Look at her eyes; they're swollen." Jessy then lifted my head and asked, "Did you cry again, Bella?" My sister also looked at me closely and added, "Of course she did."

As tears continued to stream down my face, Jessica rose from her seat and came to sit beside me.

She gently wiped away my tears with her face towel. "Is it about Edwards again, Bella?" Alice asked, turning her attention to me. I nodded in response.

"It's high time you stopped thinking about him, Bella. Otherwise, you'll keep hurting yourself for no reason.

He doesn't want you anymore, which is why he moved on with Amaris. Can't you see that?" Alice said, her anger clearly showing. I cried even more and buried my face in Jessy's bosom.

"I can't, Alice. I love him so much, and I can't bear to watch him move on with someone else," I replied, causing Alice to become even more furious.

"Jessica, can you please talk some sense into her? She's driving me crazy with this ridiculous love she has for that boy named Edwards,"

Alice said before getting up and leaving the canteen to look for someone else to talk to.

Jessica lifted my head gently and spoke, "I'm sorry that what I said earlier hurt you, but the truth is, Edward doesn't want you.

Don't you understand, Bella? You shouldn't be wasting your tears on him." She paused, and then continued,

"Okay, I won't talk about guys again if it will remind you of Edward.

Right now, all you need to do is focus on yourself, get strong, and start a new life. I'm always here for you, and your little sister will support you in any decision you make."

She concluded by wiping the tears that were falling again from my eyes.

"Thanks, Jessy. I don't know what I would do in this difficult moment without you by my side," I said to her, grateful for her support.

"That's why we're besties. We're here to help each other out," she replied with a smile.

Encouraged by Jessica's words, I made the decision to let go of everything concerning Edward and start my life anew. Together, we walked back to the classroom and resumed our lessons for the day.
