Chase and Cloris had spent the entire night hunting, and exhaustion weighed heavily on both of them. Despite his improved physique, Chase could feel fatigue creeping in. He glanced at Cloris, who panted beside him, her clothes soaked with perspiration.
"I suggest we find somewhere to rest for the night," Chase suggested, his concern evident. Cloris's eyes widened with relief. She hadn't disclosed her waning stamina, not wanting to slow him down, but the relentless pace was wearing her out. "When will he run out of energy?" she silently wondered.
Cloris managed to catch her breath and nodded, "I saw a cave on our way here. It's not far from here, and it should be safe."
"Okay, let's go," Chase agreed, and they made their way to the cave under the moonlight. The journey back was uneventful; all the beasts in their path had already fallen to their combined efforts.
