Chase groaned as a sharp knock on his door shattered the remnants of his dream. A muffled voice followed, urgent yet teasing.
"Chase! Wake up already! You're going to be late for training!" Selena called.
He blinked at the sunlight filtering through the thin curtains and sighed. He had stayed up far too late the night before, patching up the crumbling walls of his house. His arms still ached from the effort, but there was no time to dwell on it now.
"Five more minutes!" he muttered groggily.
Selena, already dressed in her training robes, opened the door slightly, poking her head inside. "Nope, no time for that. You've got twenty minutes before the session starts, and you still need to get ready. Don't make me drag you out of bed!"
Chase waved her off lazily. "All right, all right. I'm up."
"Good," Selena said with a satisfied smile, stepping back into the hallway. "I'll see you there. Don't be late, or Elder Stormray might fry you alive."
