Arthur leaned back in his chair, swirling the contents of his drink lazily while sitting across from Mia in the campus lounge. The room was alive with chatter and laughter as students unwound after a long day of awakening. Arthur, however, seemed only half-invested in their conversation.
"You barely listened to a word I said, did you?" Mia asked, raising an eyebrow as she sipped her drink.
"Of course, I was listening," Arthur replied, flashing his most charming smile. "You said something about...umm...circulating energy and channeling focus?"
Mia groaned, shaking her head. "Arthur, that was what the book said. I was talking about how we could practice together later."
"Right, practice. Absolutely. Can't wait," Arthur said, though his attention had clearly shifted to something—or someone—behind Mia.
