Marco Drake was not the largest city in the western Marcoos, but it served an important role. Situated recklessly close to the source of Doorway Lake, or, as it is called, the Lake Asphalti, it served as an entry point to the Antarctic Center.
A constant stream of people and cargo used to flow through it, making it the heart of the infrastructure of the region.
The city itself sprawled across the foothills of the mountain range, perched on top of tall cliffs. At the bottom of the cliffs, an independent, lonely castle stood at the edge of the water, surrounded by its own ring of walls.
Though it's stretched wide, it was one of Marcos' ancient wonders. And as such, people were shocked to discover that people lived in it. And as such often circled to see what type of royalty lived there, but to no avail.
The castle was much larger and better secured than any parliament building, and it was far stronger than even the presidential office.
