Chapter 64 - Chapter 64. Unexpected Discovery

The middle-aged doctor opened the door and left, and Roger took the opportunity to wink at Henrik.

Henrik nodded, which meant that what the doctor said was true. He put away his pocket watch and followed with strides.

The two came to the doctor's office. It seemed that this middle-aged man still had a high status in the hospital. He had an independent office with a safe in the corner.

After unlocking the password, the doctor took out a thick stack of documents from the safe, "Here are all the things. After reading these, you will know the true face of that guy."

Henrik took the document, and Roger leaned over and casually flipped through a few pages. The information and content on it made Roger feel terrified.

This is very different from the information they saw from the police. In comparison, the information from the doctor is detailed and well-founded. It is difficult to falsify such a complicated piece of information.

Coupled with Henrik's test just now, Roger has basically agreed with the doctor's point of view.

After asking some more questions, it was already afternoon when the two of them came out of the hospital.

The sky outside was so gloomy that it seemed that water could drip, and the feeling of the approaching rainstorm was depressing.

"Unexpected result."

Henrik started the car, "I have been focusing on the tragedy that happened in the manor not long ago, but ignored the earlier timeline."

"If that's the case, then this evil spirit may have existed for more than a day or two. The information on it is really shocking. It seems that Hannum must have obtained real knowledge of mysticism."

"What he has done all these years has been preparing for his own ceremony."

Henrik said while driving.

"Has the Hunter Guild not noticed for such a long time?"

Henrik sighed, "The Hunter's Guild is not omniscient. This is already a capitalist society. Careful camouflage, coupled with the protection of local forces, sometimes even us find it difficult."

"And..." Henrik hesitated to speak.

"The situation here is a bit special, and it is indeed difficult to investigate."

He glanced at Roger, "We are witchers, not gods. Although we have certain privileges, we will still be punished by law."

"No matter how powerful a person is, can he still fight against the army?"

Without continuing to delve deeper into this issue, Roger suddenly remembered another thing, "If all of this was carefully prepared by Hunnam, then why did he become what he is now?"

"Is it because of the ritual backlash?"

Henrik thought for a moment.

"It's possible."

"It was just an ordinary investigation, but I didn't expect so many incidents to be involved in the end."

Looking at the information in Roger's hand, "There are so many people, we have to investigate."

"I suggest investigating from the back to the front in chronological order. The accident happened recently, so it will be more convenient to check." Roger suggested.

"Just do as you say."

After locking on to the first target, Henrik drove on the road while Roger continued to look through the files.

Henrik hadn't closed his eyes for two days and one night, and Roger only rested for a while, considering that he would go to Hunnam Manor in the evening.

Although time was tight, the two still found a place to park and took a moment to squat. It is extremely dangerous to face evil spirits in this mental state.

Once the spirit is a little slack, it will be taken advantage of.

Due to his consistent meditation and a little longer rest time, Roger's mental state seems to be much better than Henrik's.

Originally, Roger also wanted to persuade Henrik to slow down the pace of the investigation and take a good rest before continuing the investigation tomorrow.

But Henrik told him that sometimes ordinary events often hide unknown crises, and a slight slack may lead to catastrophe.

Once a clue is found, it must be solved as soon as possible, otherwise it will be even more difficult to investigate again.

If the two of them had been faster the last time they went to Sherman Manor, then Sherman might not have died, and they might have stopped the real murderer.

Then solve it completely.

Roger agrees.

After two days of running around, he urgently felt that he should take the test for a driver's license.

Of course, there is still need of money. With a driver's license, a car is naturally needed.

He found time to call Thomas, but no one answered the phone. Thinking about the f*cking things Henrik did, Roger estimated that Thomas should have been completely drained by now.

Probably resting and recuperating.

After hesitating for a while, he still called Amanda. He thought he could solve the task in a day or two, but until now, they still had a lot of clues that they hadn't sorted out.

His return to Bay Town may need to be delayed.

Roger dialed several times in a row, but there were blind voices on the phone. He left a voicemail and sent a message, then woke Henrik up, and the two set off again.

They ran to several places non-stop, but they got very little information.

"Unfortunately, Hannum was the only survivor that day. If there are others alive, we may be able to obtain more detailed information."

Henrik took a sip of his beer.

The corners of Roger's eyes twitched. Is your refreshing way really good?

You must have a driver's license to drive by yourself.

Roger secretly made up his mind.

"Wait a minute."

"Survivor?"

Roger suddenly remembered something, and he pulled out a piece of paper from the information obtained by the police, which showed Hannum's financial information in the most recent period.

"I'm afraid the survivors won't be found, but we may be able to find someone who worked there and had contact with the Hunnams!"

A quick search.

"Found it!"

"Edith is an equestrian enthusiast. Hannum once found a professional trainer for him. Apart from the servants working in the manor, this person has the most contact with the Hannum couple."

"After so long in that manor, he may be able to find something."

"Let me see... the employment from above continued until Edith fell ill."

Roger opened the file and began to quickly search for the other party's name.

"This guy is a nominal member of the Equestrian Association, he is only 29 years old, his name is Gilmore Rice, he lives in the Marsh Town of Rose..."

"Here's another picture of him..."

Roger found a photo from the thick information, but when he saw the face in the photo, Roger was slightly taken aback.

"Why him?"

"Who?" Henrik asked.

Handed over the photo in his hand.

"Isn't this the group of people who had an accident in the manor not long ago?"

"He seems to be the leader of the group."

Roger frowned, "But he is a good equestrian instructor, how did he become a gangster?"

The two looked at each other, "And, why did he take that group of people to Hunnam Manor?"

"Squeak!"

Henrik made a sharp turn and turned the car around.

"Quick! This guy is definitely hiding something!"
