Chapter 13 - Doubt

Jun Yao started to laugh when she heard his words.

Looks like there is a special bond formed between them.

"Well, let me take care of her then. I'll make sure to teach her some good words." Jun Yao extended her hands towards the kitten as she signaled her brother to let her hold the kitten.

"... She is going with me." Jun Shang stopped before he thought of something and refused to let go of the cat.

He started to walk inside the base as he crossed the line with his sister.

"Come on! Why do you act so stingy whenever you get something good? Can't you share that with me for once?" Jun Yao pouted her face as she looked at her brother from behind.

"There is some high quality chocolate in the car, take some if you want." Jun Shang said before he went inside the basement without looking back.

"He is just trying to calm himself, Yao'er. Let's not disturb him." Yin Xuan walked towards his wife as he said to console her.

"Did you see that? He never bought any cat in his home after she complained that she couldn't stand the cat furs on her bed. Now he again took in another one, it looks so chubby and adorable that I really want to squish it!" Jun Yao was too excited, so she talked all this out in a single breath.

"Breath, Yao'er. Let's go in and sit down, then we will talk, alright?" He patted on her shoulder as he took her hand in his.

Then the both of them walked inside after distributing so many watermelons within the soldiers.

'Woah! What did I just see?'

'That freaking siscon bastard! To think he would actually ignore his sister like that, I'm speechless!'

'No, why did he even ignore her in the first place?'

Yun Xi was both confused and surprised at the same time by his unusual behavior, but she wasn't able to point her finger on the missing marks.

"Meow?"

"You'll see once we reach there." Jun Shang said as he absentmindedly answered her questions.

"..."

'What the hell? Can he really read minds?'

She looked at him with a pair of dazed eyes, which he covered with his large palms when he noticed it.

This kitten was so human-like, to the point that it can almost control his emotions!

It can piss him off as much as it wants, but it can change his mood from sad to happy in a moment as well.

In a corner of his heart, Jun Shang felt a strange sense of satisfaction.

Picking her up to raise was the right thing.

He stopped in front of a wall, no, rather than a wall, it was actually a huge metal door with heavy construction.

"Meow!"

"So huge, right? It also gives you protection. Solely used for something great." he said as he looked at Yun Xi's reaction.

"Meow?"

"You'll know once you go in." With that, Jun Shang walked more closer, right in front of the door

A scanner started to work from upside and from the front as it scanned Jun Shang's whole body.

So he let Yun Xi down so that it could scan him properly.

Animals can't be detected through this scanner, so there was no need to scan her.

The metal door made a strange but down sound as it started to open up towards both sides, like an elevator.

"Come in." Jun Shang picked her up again as he walked inside the room.

But Yun Xi was in a daze as soon as she saw what was inside.

"Meow?"

"Hmm… that's half right. We have to fight against the monsters that are going to invade." Jun Shang said as he looked at the pile of weapons.

All kinds of technology and strong weapons were gathered here. From machine gun to cannon, everything.

But the problem is…

"Meow? Meow? "

"..."

"What do you think of them? Are they invincible?" Jun Shang felt quite displeased with her response, but deep inside, somewhere in his heart was also screaming the suppressed emotions that it wasn't something they can use against these monsters.

"Meow! Meow!"

This made him fall into a dilemma. The guns were indeed not some appropriate measures they took, then again, what can they use as a proper weapon?

Swish! Swish!

"Meow!"

Yun Xi signaled him with her paw, cutting through the air.

"You mean knifes, daggers?"

"Meow!"

"Yeah? Swords would be even better."

"Meow!"

But, the question is, we don't know how to wield them."

"..."

That's true. It was the era of technology. So naturally, no one would think of trying to learn swordsmanship at this moment.

"Meow! Meow! Meow!"

Yun Xi signaled Jun Shang to start this, and he also understood what she meant.

It was also a good idea to do that. But to make a clear example and such, he first needs to sit in a meeting with the superiors and underlings.

And after that, they need to gather people and things to create swords and other weapons.

There was a lot of work to do in hand, so Jun Shang picked up Yun Xi and threw the cat over his shoulder as he turned around and started to walk back.

"Meow! Meow!"

Ah, she really wanted to scratch his shoulder to get a proper revenge.

'Should I do that now?'

"Don't even think about doing anything."

"..."
