Standing in front of the scary yet beautiful woman, his eyes quivered a little at her words.
"I'm in?" He asked just to confirm wasn't his mind playing with him.
"Yes, you're a part of the guild now." She stopped caressing his cheek wound, her thumb smeared with his blood going to her mouth, and she sucked it, smacking her lips to taste.
"Yep, sweet with a little spiciness, just the way I like." Smiling at him, she got closer to him, holding his two cheeks with her hands, as he stood there unable to react or move away from her dangerous gaze.
"I'm giving you this chance, so don't disappoint me and die early, okay?" Her eyes, there was something about them he found difficult to describe, yet he nodded his head gently at her words.
"Thank you for everything, Madam!" He said in appreciation.
"Good, now follow Sareh here to complete your documents, and Sareh, settle him in one of our rooms." As she released him from her firm grip, he hurriedly looked to where the Madam was looking, finding the girl from before standing there professionally.
"As you wish, Madam," Sareh answered curtly and with a lowered head.
" And you, right, what was your name?" She suddenly asked, looking at him with curiosity.
'A name...' He remembered his previous name, mentally repeating it in his mind, yet it wasn't fitting of the current image he had of himself now.
Then he thought about the previous parson's name this body belonged to, and like the name before, it just didn't fit him.
"Kaine, my name is Kaine." He said the first name that rhythms on his tongue and didn't sound too different from HIM.
"Kaine, it's a fitting name. Now go and do your best." Rubbing his cheek in a hard-to-describe way, she slowly walked back to her bed, Kaine's eyes following after her bouncing ass outlined by the silk expensive robe.
"If you please, follow me." He looked back, Sareh looking at him with a frown on her face.
He didn't stay any longer, the weird situation just happened to creep him out.
'Was it some sort of magic that compelled me to tell her everything? how terrifying...' He stopped himself from thinking further, silently following Sareh who closed the door respectfully after their exit.
"Congratulations, Madam rarely takes a liking to young men like you." As they descended the stairs, she suddenly said without looking back at him, yet her face formed into a schadenfreude smile.
Kaine stayed silent, standing in front of the reception table like before, watching Sareh take out papers.
"Here you fill in your name, your profession, type as well as rank." Sareh handed him one of the papers, exactly listing the four things she mentioned.
"Sorry, but I don't know the things you mentioned mean." He looked confused at the paper, then looked at Sareh who sighed when she saw him with a dumb look.
"Haven't even read a basic book detailing the profession of Mages and their types?" She didn't wait for him to answer taking the paper from his hands.
"I don't have the time to explain everything to you, tell me what do you think you are?" She asked, taking a pen in her hand.
"You mean about being a mage?" He asked confused. He felt like a Mage, given his Magic items, not magic weapons, but he knew another magical type of people called Warriors.
"Yes, A mage and a Warrior are the two main professions, now what type of Mage are you?" She filled in his name and Profession clarifying his confusion a little.
"What does a type mean in this context?" He asked, Sareh giving him an exasperated look.
"Types mean what type of Mage you are, there are six types of Mages that are also shared with Warriors. Which I can't simply explain to you right now." She took a careful look at him, eyeing his gauntlet and amulet.
"From what I can see, you seem to be The Runic type, they specialize in runic spells and items. But if you're not, come back when you know the basics of magic." She filled in his type and tapped the last place to be filled in.
"A rank is how much a Mage or Warrior has knowledge or experience of their spells or combat art techniques. Assuming you don't even know the basics of Magic, I would write you as a novice, a beginner Mage, or Warrior." Filling in the last place, she took the paper and put it under the desk.
Kaine stayed silent, watching Sareh take out another paper and key.
"This is a standard paper form for your room, and here is the key to your room. Oh, take this map as well, you will need it to reach your room." Handing him the papers and key, she began to work on organizing her desk.
Kaine picked up the papers and key, walking a little distance away to not bother her. He first took out the room paper, which listed rules and instructions regarding the rooms, as well as filling in his name and profession only.
'Easy enough, and the map has detailed instructions of where to find anything in this huge building.' He looked over the map, looking for the number 07 carved on his key.
'It's on the first floor, and there are a lot of rooms here. Are other members of the guild occupying them?' He began walking to the hallway that reached his room.
"Hey! Can you first fill out the paper first?" He looked around finding Sareh with a shaking head looking at him.
He didn't say anything at her belittling, he walked toward her desk and asked for a pen, quickly filling in the paper.
The words he wrote were a mess, the previous him just knew the basics while he now was completely trained in another language, but he still filled out the form and gave it back to Sareh.
"Thank you for everything." Saying his heartfelt thanks, he hurriedly walked to the hallway, wanting to just find a good bed that he could comfortably lay on and have his long-awaited suppressed panic attack of being in a magical world.
He passed over other rooms, counting the numbers, he at last stood on 07, the room given to him. putting in the key, he unlocked the door and entered inside.
'Wow, it's almost as good as my previous life's room." The room was tiny, having an average wooden bed, a table, and a chair right next to it, a small drawer on the wall, and on the corner next to the door was a closed-off room with a door.
Opening the door of the smaller room, he found a toilet as well as a shower, both of which looked like a weird magical version of his previous life's bathroom.
"Nice! I can finally take a proper shower!" He put the map and key on the bed and quickly took off his dirty old clothes, rushing to the shower room.
He didn't remember the previous guy taking a shower after coming at all, but as he stood under the shower, he began to fiddle with the strange gear of the shower head.
'Oh shit, HOT! it's too hot!' He burned himself as the water turned on, jumping away from it. He took hold of the metal handle and began to test how it worked.
He stood under the shower head, eyes closed as he enjoyed the shower of water cascading comfortably on his skin, washing himself of all the accumulated dirt and smell from his body.
He stayed under the shower for half an hour, eventually getting tired and sleepy, deep fatigue assaulting him. Exiting the shower room, he looked around the room sleepily, stepping away from the dirty clothes he threw on the floor.
He opened the drawer, finding it empty, so seeing no other choice, he walked to the bed naked, wearing only his bracer and amulet on his neck.
He sighed when he saw there was no blanket, just a bare mattress, which he reluctantly lay in in fetal position, his body shivering as the room was cold.
'So cold...' He hugged his body with his arms, and as he lay there and complained about the cold, the bracer on his arm began to release gentle warmness, that seeped into his body, nullifying the coldness away.
'I can worry about everything later, I just wanna sleep now.' He closed his eyes to sleep just as the day was beginning to start for the rest of the world.
