He saw a young girl being busy picking some herbs and the she-beast getting closer to her and nudging her.
The girl turns and strokes the beast, before getting focused on the work of selecting the herbs. Even the beast Ermaan was riding on was looking for work, any work, which he could do to help the people.
Soon, he found an old man carrying the logs of wood in a bullock cart but without any bull and it lowered itself, picked the ropes with it's venomous fangs and started pulling the ropes, only to earn a scolding from the old man, who was worried for the beast, shocking indeed.
The old man approached the beast, saw Ermaan, waved a hi to him, then removed the ropes from the beast's fang and tied it securely with the claws of the beast, who was more than co-operative in the process. Thus, Ermaan and the beast dropped the old man home with his bunch of woods and continued their journey. Soon, they found the she-beast joining them.
