Chapter 38 - Immortal World: A white lie

Pov Elena:

After I said those words, the atmosphere cooled down. The faces of everyone present had a deep surprise as they processed my words, so much so that none of them reacted immediately.

The one who reacted the fastest was the woman from the Phoenix sect, who said some words with relevant weight.

"Princess Elena, if Prince Illios is looking for a wife with the majestic Phoenix line, I think he'd better come to our sect, as he won't find any worthy women in this place. Besides, he might have trouble later on," he said, alluding that if he chose a certain woman, he might have trouble with the bald guy.

"He shouldn't worry. If Prince Illios participates in the martial arts conference in 2 years and gets good results, I'm sure the sect master will assign him a fiancée befitting his abilities," she continued, not caring about the face of my half-brother, who was looking at her with a betrayed face.

When those words were aired, everyone, especially those from the Ice Phoenix sect, made serious faces. I guess by covering up my attack, which I directed to humiliate that idiot half-brother, this woman gained an ambiguous understanding about my power.

Although she may not exactly have any idea of the rarity in my bloodline, with the power of my attack and the Phoenix Qi I gave off, she could sense that the Phoenix lineage running through my veins is nothing inferior to that of a Phoenix descendant of her sect.

Considering that my brother is a year younger, the difference between the two in terms of cultivation should be opposite, as a sect specializes in cultivation, on the other hand, the empire goes more to the national power environment. So the fact that that idiot has the middle Earthly Disciple cultivation, while I, the peak Stellar Sage, is an indication that those twins they arbitrarily rejected might be very talented.

Although I personally dislike the idea of having someone from my mother's sect around, I think I can use it to our advantage.

"What I said earlier about marriage is because of a promise a previous emperor made, dictating that if the Ice Phoenix sect had a lot of problems and could potentially decline, a member of the imperial family would marry them and support the sect with their resources," I said and put on a serious expression.

Everything I said here was pure and utter bullshit, and it was made up the moment this Fire Phoenix woman mentioned the betrothed. But I think it will work wonders, as neither side (Fire Phoenix, Ice) will think my words are lies, since it is no secret that the Empire and the Ice Phoenix sect shared a very friendly relationship in the past.

But I'm not going to let this spark that the woman of the Fire Phoenix sect extinguish.

"My brother is quite handsome, powerful and intelligent, so I personally think it would be a waste for him to have only one wife. I spoke with him earlier and he mentioned that he wouldn't mind having multiple wives and sharing his incredible fortune."

"So, in keeping with the promise the Empire made to the Ice Phoenix sect, Illios will marry any woman from the Ice Phoenix sect who proves to be worthy by the sect's own standards. Of course, we will also respect his decision if he wants to decline," I continued.

Although my speech might sound arrogant to people who are not familiar with this topic, for the female disciples of the Ice Phoenix sect, this is a great opportunity to win an amazing sponsor with a great lineage. Also, for the woman from the Fire Phoenix sect, this could be considered an opportunity to send some female disciple from her sect to our door.

"Of course, I don't consider doing anything without their leader's permission, but I trust that they will reevaluate the situation at the conference they are going to hold, when the Ice Phoenix sect crushes the Fire Phoenix sect," I thought as I looked at them all with a hearty smile.

"Now, if you'll excuse me, I've just arrived and would like to rest for a bit," I said and bowed graciously to the three visitors.

All three had different expressions, from the bald man, with a very wary expression, the stupid half-brother, with a hateful expression and the last one and the one I cared most about her reaction, the woman from the Fire Phoenix sect, who had a thoughtful expression.

After observing their reactions, satisfied, I turned to Aveline.

"Miss Aveline, we'll discuss the details later, if you don't mind," I said, and she immediately responded:

"No, no, no, no, of course I don't mind, but I think it would be better if we discussed it when mother and the other important people in the sect come back," she said with a nervous and... Relieved?

I paid no more attention to my surroundings and simply left.

When I returned to the lodging specially prepared for our coming, I saw that the little dragon was already awake and to pass the time, she was juggling fireballs.

Seeing this, I thought about how I would approach my meeting with the Ice Phoenix sect master and concluded that I should take Elizabeth to that meeting to demonstrate the strength of her lineage and thus convince some women.

For, I never said that this proposal would be limited to female disciples only.

One week later, back at the county office....

Pov Illios:

It's been a week now and I think it's time to put my plan into action.

I have also done some pertinent research on the origin of the bloodline I have chosen for Lila, as this is the first time someone outside the Universal System gets a bloodline from it, so it is best to have a thorough understanding about the dark creature from which I am going to borrow its lineage.

The bloodline I have chosen is the Dark Phoenix, due to the fact that it shares origin with my other two bloodlines and also Phoenixes are not considered very violent, so I consider it a good idea to give this bloodline to Lila.

The history that the system provided me summarized is as follows:

[ A long time ago, in a magical world far far away, a young fire Phoenix named Aria lived in a peaceful kingdom surrounded by nature and magical creatures. Aria was known to be a beautiful and wise creature, with a heart full of love and compassion. One day, Aria met a dark creature named Darius, who was banished by his own kind due to his violent behavior.

Despite the differences in their species, Aria and Darius fell deeply in love. For a time, their love blossomed in secret, and Aria became pregnant. The news that Aria was expecting a baby was not well received by the kingdom, and fearful of the mixing of species, they attempted to kill the baby still in Aria's womb.

In order to protect her unborn child, Aria fled the kingdom and hid in a distant forest, where she gave birth to a beautiful female Fire Phoenix with dark, ebony-bright feathers. Aria named her daughter "Lysa," which means "dark phoenix" in her language.

Unfortunately, the kingdom discovered Aria's whereabouts and attacked her and her family. Aria and Darius gave their lives to protect Lysa, who, in her grief and sorrow, vowed revenge against those who took her parents from them.

Eventually, Lysa found her parents' killers, and realized that revenge was not what she needed. All she wanted was to find someone who would love her for who she was, regardless of her lineage or species. And so, Lysa continued her journey in search of true love and the warmth that only love can provide.

But as Lysa explored the world, her presence began to cause turmoil among magical creatures, for her very existence was a reminder of intermingling between species, something many creatures considered sacrilege.

Though she had found friends along the way, there was no one who truly loved her, no one who fully understood her. Sadness took hold of her and she spent many nights crying, searching in vain for that warmth and love she so longed for.

One day, she decided enough was enough and went to a faraway place, a place where there was no one who knew her and no one who could hurt her. There, she built a nest on top of a tree and stayed there, alone and isolated from the world.

After years of living in solitude, the dark Phoenix had resigned herself to a lonely and loveless life. She spent her days flying through the skies, hunting prey and sleeping in her tree-top nest. As time passed, his spirit grew weaker and his body began to age.

One day, as she slept, the dark Phoenix felt a strange presence in her nest. She opened her eyes and was surprised to see a Phoenix God standing in front of her. The god explained that he had come to look for her and offered her the opportunity to be reborn in another world, where she would find the love of her life.

At first, the dark Phoenix was reluctant, fearing that her past would haunt her and that her fate would not change in another world. But as the Phoenix god spoke to her about the beauty of the new world and the opportunities that would lie before her, the dark phoenix began to consider his offer.

Finally, the dark Phoenix accepted the Phoenix god's offer and closed her eyes forever on the magical world and thus reincarnated in that beautiful other world.]
