Her mother gave the man a playful hit on his back, making him avert his eyes from him.
"Why do you have to say it like that?" She laughed. "You sound too overprotective."
The man cleared his throat with a surprised expression on his face. "Really?" He asked, looking back at him. His eyes were apologetic now, showing hints of his age in the corner of his eyes. "I meant that you're the friend she talked about. The one that helped her out on school?"
Allen looked confused for a second, but immediately remembered the show Isabelle's ex made at school. He nodded.
"Yes, sir. That'd be me." He stretched his hand out. "I'm Allen. Allen Hayes."
The father smiled. "Albert Williams. This is my wife, Helen."
Isabelle's mother stepped forward too, but instead of taking his hand, she hugged him fast. "Nice to meet you, thank you for taking care of my daughter."
