(Pov. Ethan)

I watched the fights with a mix of disinterest and disgust. No matter how much I tried to lower my power level relative to my opponents, the truth is they simply clung to their techniques and knowledge of martial arts. A clear example of this was the fight between Chiaotzu and Krillin.

Both were weak, especially Chiaotzu, who used his telekinetic abilities to control objects — in this case, Krillin's own stomach, forcing him to feel sick.

This technique had obvious weaknesses. First, it was necessary to keep concentration on the opponent. Second, any distraction could break the focus. And finally, you had to be as strong as the opponent. If you were much weaker, there would be no effect at all.

I continued watching as Krillin, despite training with Master Roshi, still seemed inexperienced. But even so, it was clear that he was stronger than Chiaotzu. In the end, he would win.

That's when I saw a spark of determination in Krillin's eyes. At the same time, I witnessed the most ridiculous scene that could happen in a martial arts tournament.

The scene before me was almost comedic, and I couldn't help but let out a slight sigh of disdain. Krillin was actually trying to win a fight with a childish question? "What's nine minus one?" he asked, as if he were on a school playground and not in a high-level martial arts tournament. Chiaotzu, distracted by the silly question, began counting on his fingers, his expression of concentration was almost pathetic.

Yet, there was an effective simplicity in this strategy. Krillin had achieved something that few could: breaking the concentration of a psychic opponent with nothing more than a question. He seized this moment of distraction to attack, moving with a speed that Chiaotzu, immersed in his counting, couldn't keep up with. The blow connected with precision, and the small warrior was thrown to the other side of the arena.

The crowd erupted into applause and cheers. In a way, it was a clever move, but I couldn't help but feel bored. These little tricks and gimmicks were nothing compared to what I had begun to discover about myself. While everyone celebrated Krillin's victory, I was on a completely different plane, my thoughts fixed on the power flowing through my veins.

The feeling of Ultra Instinct still burned within me. It was something far beyond anything these fighters could even imagine. Moving without thinking, acting on pure instinct, was liberating in a way I had never experienced before. But with this power also came many questions.

I leaned back against the arena wall, watching the other fighters prepare for their matches. I could feel eyes on me, especially Bulma and Gina's, who still seemed worried about my distant behavior. But how could I explain what was happening inside me? How could I tell them that, in the midst of these battles, I had touched something that would completely change the course of my journey?

My thoughts were interrupted when I felt a familiar ki approaching. Yamcha, finally recovered, was walking toward me, his expression serious. He always tried to maintain a facade of confidence, but I could see through it. I could sense his frustration for not being able to fight, his insecurity about our relationship, and his latent competitiveness.

"Ethan," he said, stopping beside me. "I heard your fight was... impressive." There was a slight tone of provocation in his voice, as if he was testing my reactions.

"It was just a warm-up," I replied, without taking my eyes off the arena. "Nothing I didn't expect."

"Really?" He crossed his arms, casting a glance in my direction. "Because, from what I've heard, it was something far beyond the expected."

There was tension between us, as there always was. Yamcha was competitive by nature, and the fact that I had stood out during the tournament seemed to bother him. But at that moment, I wasn't interested in trivial rivalries. My thoughts were elsewhere.

"Yamcha," I said, finally turning my eyes to him. "Have you ever felt like you were on the verge of discovering something... something bigger than you ever imagined?"

He stared at me for a moment, unsure of how to respond. "What are you talking about, Ethan?"

I turned and continued walking, starting to ignore Yamcha. This was a conversation I didn't want to have at that moment. After all, he lost and couldn't fight me; all his dedication ultimately ended up being useless. I could also see in his eyes a mix of envy and anger. Why wouldn't he be envious or angry at me? After all, I'm with Bulma, whom he would have had in the normal timeline. But honestly, I have no regrets.

Before I could disappear into the horizon, back to my shared room with Bulma and Gina, I heard a shout calling me. It was Yamcha.

He was calling me and said something.

"Please! Defeat Tien Shinhan. Hit him with a good blow!" Yamcha shouted with a mix of emotions running across his face.

I turned to him and just gave a thumbs-up. I saw his tense body relax. Before he could say anything else, I returned on my way. After all, I couldn't wait to see Bulma and Gina for another kind of combat.

**

The next day, we had the following matches:

Tien Shinhan vs. Son Ethan

Gina vs. Krillin.

I saw Tien glaring at me like I was a little boy next to him. He imagined he was going to destroy me. But unfortunately for him, he would be the one destroyed. But how did it come to this situation?

**

After a heated night with Bulma and Gina, both decided to sleep on my chest. Before falling asleep, I felt an energy coming from within me. I decided to pretend I was sleeping.

Shortly after, someone entered the room, and their intent was to weaken me. I could sense through their ki a killing intent. When they attacked, I shifted the girls to both sides, avoiding the enemy's attack, and then dodged with my head.

Quickly using ki, I moved smoothly away from the girls. Like a thin layer over my body, I managed to slide out of their embrace. Just as it seemed Gina was about to be attacked while still waking up—

Whoosh!

Bang!

I turned in the air and kicked the individual through the window.

I moved quickly outside! I saw the individual fleeing. I looked down and realized I was naked. Luckily, I had left a blanket for one of the girls. Although, I was sure both would be quite irritated with what had happened.

Using Kami-sama's magic to summon some clothes onto my body, I donned Gohan's outfit from the Cell fight and leapt toward the hooded figure.

Taking advantage of his lowered guard, I attacked.

But before I could finish the attack, standing in front of me, blocking my kick, was none other than Tien Shinhan.

"Master, please. Let me eliminate this individual in the martial arts tournament. There's no need for interference in the competition," said Tien, grimacing as he held my strike.

"Hmph."

"If it weren't for you looking demotivated, I wouldn't have had to intervene. Both you, Tien, and Chiaotzu should be fighting in the finals. Not this troublesome troublemaker. Come, Tien. I'll let you finish off this individual tomorrow. Hmph!" said Master Tsuru, who turned and walked away.

"Tomorrow, I'm going to destroy you, Ethan. This time, no one will stop me from breaking your arms and legs," said Tien with a sneer and disgust.

I just stared at the two without responding. Were these two living on another planet? Or were they idiots? Didn't they realize that I was just having fun with this fight? Because if I fought like I did with Gina, everything on the map would disappear.

"Idiots!" I heard Gina and Bulma approaching after getting dressed.
