Chapter 28 - Legacy or a cliché?

The particular well cooked koi savoured better than any fish barbeque that I ate up this point in my life.

'I don't know...is it because of this kid's [Rune magic] or the longevity koi which had survived for more than 100 years...'

Although the taste of the dish I am consuming was far better than anything, the atmosphere is perfectly contrast to it.

Just as I intended to chew a large well cooked chunk of meat, "Creakk..."

The private room's door was slightly pushed open and man who seemed to be in his a middle age emerged before my eyes.

'Is he a staff from the association...'

I wasn't bothered to show him respect or greet, even after consuming some amount of meat my stomach was still grumbling like a black hole.

"You can also have some early night snack..."

The time I exited out of the tower was midst of evening, so I expected them to uptake more time than usual, however it looks like my prediction were completely wrong this time.

"You are Mr. Lucas Flynn, right?"

"Ye-"

"What are you talking about?"

This kid beside me yelled as she was drunk, "Do you know who he is?"

"That's what I was asking?"

"Stop! There is no one named Lucas here!Remember this guy here, he is my good friend and you have to treat him well in the future!"

"Ah, Yes."

Earlier I assumed that, she was just a young brat who was lucky enough to be awakened at a such a young age and had an aptitude to lear [Rune Arts]

However...

"Hunter Tia, you maybe be mistaken because, I personally got the directions from the one who escorted Mr.Lucas Flynn."

"Then...Are you saying that I am WRONG?"

"Ah...It's not like that I wa-"

"You are indeed mistaken Hunter Tia. I am Lucas Flynn."

"Thud..."

I stared at the have chewed piece of meat that had recently departed to the earth from the person before me.

"You...You are Lucas Flynn!"

"Of course, I am. Don't believe in me?"

I couldn't believe at I saw, some crystal like tears trickled out of the girls eyes as she made very saddened expression,

"I HATE YOU!!"

'Is there any reason to hate me...'

I don't know why she said such words. Obviously she was the one to approach and self assumed me as someone.

'Why I being hated now...Is this what they call a villain's charm huh!'

Like how MC's of every novel can be said as a girl killer and magnet of fortune, I think a villain's charm is to make everyone to hate him for any reason.

"Mr. Lucas Flynn, A special person wants to meet with you. Your evaluation and [Hunter]'s id will also be directly handover to you by him."

'Oh...Is it henry Or Valastor.'

Obviously, there would be no other persons, apart from them who would want to meet me.

'Did they become afraid of Nicole...'

"Haha..."

Soon, it was yet again a shane for my shaman's skill.

'I had heard that he us a luantic and dumb bastard but, why does he suddenly laughs like that out of nowhere...'

I got a glimpse of the escorter gulping down his saliva, not like it bothered me.

"Hahaha..."

"Haa..."

'What's up with this situation...'

Whether I am unlucky or unluck is in love with me, I don't know. Every time I cane to an conclusion it always turns into other way around.

"Hello, I am L-Lucas Flynn."

My words were almost stuttered, although I was very confident enough to quickly grab the [Hunter's Id] from whoever it is and rush to the mansion.

'I have no other choice...'

The man sitting before me was one of the most powerful man in this world, he had powers to even fight against my grandfather.

"Is this the first time we met...?"

"I think so..."

He is the leader of the [Hunter's association] Philip Allen, the [Legend] rank hunter also one of the very first hunters to reach the 20th floor.

"You might not remember me...you were this small when we first met. Like a small unriped apple."

'I think his way of speaking is a bit vulgar...'

He made a gesture holding something small being, beside his chest while saying these lines.

"Alas, it useless to talk about this now...Well, Lucas Flynn the main reason I called you here was to ask you something."

"What is it?"

"Well, do you still remember your mother?"

If someone hears this question they will probably think that world famous hunter, Philip Allen is really a crazy old dude.

'Would a person in his right state of mind will forgot his mother...'

This have been the answer he would have received from the many common people, "Vaguely..."

I answered, nevertheless there is difference between rich and poor.

"You might not be able to have the memories of the time you spent with your mom. Even so, your mother still loved you dearly."

"Haha...Is that so?"

"You are currently wondering why this old man is bringing up some topic like this now, right?"

'Damn, Is this man a [L] grade shaman instead of tank.'

"Although, it can be considered as true, I am also curious of as to why we are talking about my mother."

A sigh which slipped out this man's mouth made me think of my Orphanage director.

'His looks perfectly fit the characteristics of next door retired grandpa...'

As hell I would belive that, I quit staring and took peek at Valastor who had been standing like a statue ever since I entered the room.

"Do you know your mother is also an hunter?"

"No..."

The vague images I dreamt of did displayed the inhumane speed of young Lucas's mother.

This piece of information was truly amusing as the author had never mentioned anything about his mother.

"She had originally plans to continue her career as an hunter, after you join the middle school yet...I am still saddened by her death to this day."

"I think you were aware of a Hunter's life. Once you enter the gate or tower. You may not know what in there to greet you."

"Even if we measured the magic power or established bases on each floor. Death has been guaranteed in a gruesome way once you decide to walk on this path."

A white small portal appeared in between us, I stared at the small box and large paper which had been rolled in the form of scroll.

"Take this, these are some relics your mother wished to be passed to be on you someday. Now you have become a hunter, it's time for you to take this with you."

Blankly staring at the items with my mind in a daze, I kept the scroll and the small wooden box inside my inventory.

'What's with this cliché development!?'
