Massy stared at the squeezed card in her palm, some of the words and digits on it had almost faded away.
It was not her fault but due to the way it was tightly squeezed.
She had left the card at the bar because she was furious with the way he mocked her, so when he was done she threw the card away to show she did not care at all.
Well, she won't blame him for all he was doing because she had done worst to him, enough to make him kill her.
Only the thought of that made her heart to bleed without control and she ached inwardly without telling a soul.
If she had known, she would not have been a bitch when her family was rich, maybe she thought it would last forever.
Now everywhere she went and in all she does, her past attitude haunted her, even when bad things happened to her.
If she was made to suffer for all she had done to beautiful souls in the past then she had suffered more than enough.
She remembered when she went to lend money where she thought she could get help.
Massy was bitter and disappointed because instead of getting help, she was chased away like a stray dog.
At another place where she thought she would get help, she got disappointed when the man said he wanted an exchange.
He told her point blank that for her to get money from him, he would have to make love toher before he could give her a dine.
It was not like she was a virgin or something else stopped her and she would have done it but the man was lying.
Massy already knew from the way he looked at her that he would not give her a dine even if she laid with him.
That was the main reason she went to the bar in search of the card she had dropped when she was furious.
She took a glance at the squeezed card and sighed, this was her last hope and she hoped he could help just like he said.
It was unbelievable for her to go to the one she once treated with hate and contempt for help but she had no choice.
She took her phone and typed in the digit from the card while muttering a word of prayer.
Even when she had to stray her eyes as she typed the digits because she was unable to see the faded digit.
When she had successfully typed it, she dialed it while holding her breath anxiously waiting for what would happen next.
At the second ring, someone picked the call up
"Hello, this is Hampton company limited, what can we do for you?" a female voice rang out at the end as it was picked.
Massy raised her brow confused and stared at the card lying in her palm, then without saying anything she hanged up.
The lady at the other end stared at telephone and told the person close to her that they had one of their weird customers again.
"Maybe this would not be happening if they were so popular," the other lady muttered before they continued their work for the day.
Massy gazed at the card confused and heaved deeply, finding out that her problems night not be solved anything soon.
"Who knows? Maybe he was just pulling my legs." She thought.
When she was about to give up, she saw at the edge of the card a handwritten note of digits and she peered into it.
She hurriedly picked her phone that she had dropped already when she had hung up and dialed the digits.
Maybe he had used the card to write his own digits and he was in no way affiliated to the company mentioned to her.
With high hopes, she placed the phone on her ear while it rang out for a few moment.
At the third ring, it was picked up, so she held her breath and closed her eyes as his voice boomed out.
He spat out very coldly "this is Malik Hampton."
Breathing in and out softly she said "Hi, it's me" speaking in the most cheerful way she could and hiding her fears.
"Massy Felisha Tedd" he said coldly again like her name on his lips tasted like a poison.
She could not say anything but breathe out to ease the tension heaving up in her chest so he continued.
"Took you so long to call me, well, you are just in time" he said and she could feel him smirking.
"I just want to say that I am..." she wanted to speak but stopped.
"Sorry?" he cut in abruptly.
"No, not that, but well, that is…"
"You should be." She cut her firmly again and she was getting all tight like he was.
Massy knew she had to let go of her ego for her father's survival, but she did not know how she would do that.
Maybe this is because he was being too tough with her but she expected it since she had hurt him severally in the past.
He was one of the student she bullied when they were in high school and she was sure he would use it against her.
She bit her lips with eyes closed, breathing in and breath out continuously till she said the words in one breath.
"I need your help." She said this as fast as she could as if wanting the whole episode to end.
With eyes closed, she waited for his reply but was unfortunately was disappointed when he hang up.
Maybe he was pulling her legs, she thought while she was dropping her phone with a sigh.
Deep in thought, her phone rang notifying her about an incoming message but she wanted to ignored it.
She was thinking it was a message from the communication services and did not want anything to anger her at that time.
Nobody has messaged her in a while but on a second thought, she decided to feed her eyes maybe it would take her sorrow away.
She opened up her phone and went to the notifications to see an address in the message box.
Confused, she checked the sender of the message and it was from the number she dialed which meant it was Malik.
In other words, he was not playing around or pulling her legs. So happily, she rushed out going to the address sent.
.
.
.
Massy stared at Malik confusedly as he placed a few pages of papers in front of her.
"It contains the rules to be followed when you have gotten this job." Malik said when he saw her confused look.
She only nodded when she stared at the paper before picking it to read the contents.
A little frown settled on her face as she read through it.
"What type of job are you offering me that involves a deduction of my salary when I touch your properties, taste your food."
He looked at her mockingly and gestured for her to continue, he knew she was not done with the rules yet.
"Wait, and living with you?!" Massy ranted.
Malik gazed at her void emotions and his face became twice as cold and same was his gaze.
He did not want to reply her before but he changed his mind since he knew the words he would say would further torture her.
"My personal maid" he said coldly and with no form of regrets.
"Personal what!" She screamed, she knew he was not joking and she did not even know how to take it all in at once.
Massy had thought that he would offer her a job in one of the offices in his company.
She was even thrilled and astonished when she saw his huge and large company before she was taken to the company's restaurant.
A maid! Really? A maid is the least of what he could use to insult her.
She wanted to curse and insult him but restricted herself when she thought of her dying father.
Angrily, she dropped the paper on the table loudly and glared at Malik who looked unaffected by it.
"Won't you like to know what is written on the other pages?" he inquired icily since she had stopped reading the contract paper.
"No, thank you, I will pass, who knows what is written in them, may be it would just be another set of annoying rule" she said rolling her eyes.
He shrugged.and ignored all of her attitude "By 7:00 am, tomorrow my driver will come to pick you."
She gaped looking at the audacity he had to continue talking. Looking at him, she wondered how money had changed him so much.
He was totally different from the one she used to bully mercilessly at that time and she did not even know how to take it.
She was the one handling him before now, but now she could not stand him. The tables had turned completely in his favour.
I think that by then you should be able to do all necessarys." Malik said before standing up.
"But I have not even agreed to anything yet."
"I know you would agree to this." He smiled colishly for the first time.
"Why would you think so or even talk in such gibberish manner" she said as he was getting on her nerves and he knew it.
Not only did he know what he was doing to her, he also loved it, he enjoyed the way the revenge was being served cold.
"Wait, tell me, Massy, if you don't, who else would?"
"Arhh" the pain and the way he was mocking her was gradually becoming uncontrollably for him.
"Who else but the jobless and penniless lady who is after her father's survival?" He said before walking away.
He ignored the tantrum she was throwing with her fists and left her while she cursed at him with her gaze pinned on his back till he was out of sight.
