Agatha walked up to the body that was in front of her, closing his eyes. She turned to the inquisitor who was shivering, covered in blood. Not her own.
"Ursula." Agatha said.
"Its my fault." Ursula said, "If only I wasn't weak, if only I was stronger..."
"You're alive. That's all that matters now."
"They're all dead because of me."
Agatha was about to rebuke her when she heard someone. She drew out her axe only to see who it was.
"Owen." She said, glancing at the person he was carrying. "Been a while."
"No time, we've got to leave, now!"
"Why?"
"You've seen it, huh?" Ursula said, looking at Owen. Owen looked at her, then at the body on the floor. The sight of his friend made him look away.
"Damn, Mize." Owen said under his breath. He shook his head, regaining his composure. "We have to leave, now, Miles is holding it off, but it won't be long."
"Miles will die." Ursula said.
"Then he made his choice." Agatha said, "Lets move."
The rattling of chains forced all of them to stop, as the dear seeped into their bones. The daemon was standing right above Mize's body, staring at them.
"OWEN!" Agatha cried. Just before Owen could snap his fingers, the daemon hit him back with its wrecking ball. Owen went unconscious as he bounced off the car and his head hit the pavement, while Heinrich stumbled a few meters away from him. Agatha raised her axe, standing her ground. signaling to Ursula, she charged at the daemon, slashing at its legs. By the time she blinked, she was already wrapped around in chains. The daemon pulled her towards it and slammed her away with its other wrecking ball.
The daemon suddenly was engulfed in darkness.
Ursula legs gave way as she fell to the ground. Agatha dragged her to where Owen lay, picking up Heinrich as well.
"Do you think you can last, Owen."
"No." Owen replied. "He's already on to me. Just...just go."
Agatha nodded, taking the two and running off. Just as the two of them turned the corner, the daemon appeared there, looking at them.
"Ho...how?"
"Ursula! Take Heinrich and run!"
Ursula obeyed immediately. Agatha raised her axe again, slashing downward and breaking the very earth. Agatha fired the rocks at the daemon. The daemon ignored her attack slamming her away. Agatha tried to get up, blocking another attack of the daemon. The daemon stopped, looking lost as it looked around. Agatha used the chance to attack the daemons face. The daemon didn't budge, ignoring her completely as it went outside. It floated off to the right, turning the corner to face Ursula.
"NOW!" Ursula shouted. A man jumped on the daemon's back, stabbing it with his sword. The sword made no damage, only sliding off the daemon's skin.
Raising her hands, Ursula's licht energy began to spiral. A blue flower began to spiral right behind her, engulfing both her and the daemon.
The daemon, however was unfazed by any of this, floating towards her. For the first time, it raised it hands, touching her shoulder with a finger. The daemon slid it finger down, slicing it off. Ursula screamed as she fell to her knees, the flower turning to dust. The man stood horrified, unable to block the daemon's wrecking ball that rammed him away. Agatha came from behind, slicing at the chains. Her axe bounced off the chains much to her dismay. The daemon turned to her, sending its wrecking ball towards her. Agatha moved, but fell into the daemon's trap. The daemon pulled back its wrecking ball, wrapping the chains around her. The daemon shook its chains violently, smashing her on the ground over and over again. The daemon finally set her free, her unconscious body drenched in blood.
Ursula had escaped into a nearby building, trying to control her breathing as fear had taken a hold of her. She had used Agatha to escape, and whatever her fate was, she hoped, no, prayed that she was still alive.
"H...h...hey." A voice called. Ursula turned sharply to see who it was.
"Heinrich!"
The guy slumped down beside her, letting out a sigh.
"Saw Mize." Heinrich said, "Damn,"
"We'll get out of this. One way or another."
Heinrich smiled, "Thanks, but I might not make it. I've already lost a lot of blood. I can barely feel my legs. If Owen was here, we would have made it a few miles before dying."
"I don't want to die. And neither should you."
"Never wanted to," Heinrich said. "I'm closing my eyes for a sec..."
"No..."
"I'll be fine, trust me. I just need to..."
"HEINRICH!!"
The daemon, or to be precise, the sin was going after the strongest. It looked for the strongest inquisitors and took them out first. However, if anyone got in its way, it took them out first. And since Ursula and Heinrich were currently not fulfilling any of these criteria, they were safe. Because currently, the daemon stood face to face with Oz Vlazerncroft who had just arrived in the city thanks to the distress signal.
