Chapter 1 - hour 1-7

"What a nice, beautiful day." said Pratchett's mom. The family was celebrating the 13-yr old girl's birthday at a outdoor water park. Her aunt, grandpa, grandma, uncle, and great-greatparents had also came to celebrate the girl's first year of being a teenager. Her little brother was swimming in the kiddie pool, the moms were talking about what else to do, the dads were watching the kids play, everything seemed to be going great! "Mommy! Mommy! The shark is gonna eat me! Ah!" said the little child telling his mom about the shark floatie his friend was wearing. Things seemed to be going great for Pratchett's birthday! Everyone was swimming, going down rides, eating snow cones, and enjoying the sheer amount of fun that the water park would bring. Now, let's skip forward a couple of hours. Everyone is exhausted, and ready to open presents. So, they sat down at one of the reserved birthday party tables to open presents. She got $300, a few cards, a water blaster, gift cards, and a trip to Orlando! So, after all of that, it was time to go home, and call it a day. On their way home, Pratchett looked out the window, admiring the rain on her window from the super strong thunderstorm that was about to occur in their town. When they arrived home, the kids convinced the parents to let play with water balloons outside, since the thunder hadn't started yet. They played for about 30 minutes, and then was escorted inside for cake. But, the little boy Pratchett was playing with left his ball outside. He loves his ball. He plays with it everyday. And, because he's a little boy, he would throw a temper tantrum if he lost something he liked. But he didn't know he left it it out, yet. After he ate his cake, he found it his ball was missing. The whole family also found out that the tornado siren with going off, the severe thunderstorm and tornado alerts were going off on their phone, and the TV forcefully turned to a Civil Danger Alert. Not only was a there a tornado and a severe thunderstorm, there were murderers on the loose ready to kill anybody in the city. "CIVIL DANGER ALERT This is a Civil Danger Alert, sent by the government of the United States of America. 100 murderers and terrorists have escaped from jail, and ready to wreck havoc on anyone they see. Please, follow our instructions. I repeat, please follow our instructions. Please, try not to produce much noise. Please, stay calm, and don't panic whatsoever. Do not exit your house. I repeat, do not exit your house at any times. Do not open the door for anyone. Even if it seems like someone asking for help. We advise you to close all windows, plan an escape route, find good hiding spots, and be armed at all times. Do not open the door for anyone. I repeat, do not open the door for anyone. Please have a good day, and may God be with you all." ... the house went silent. "WAAA! WAAAAA! WAAAAAAAAA! WHERE IS MY BALL AT????" screamed the little male child. The adults tried to calm him down, but that only made it worse. The adult's soon realize they must get the ball or else they will be found by the murderers and will be killed. They order Pratchett to quickly grab the ball so the child gets comforted. ... ... .. Pratchett goes outside. ... ... She reaches for the ball. ... And then, ... she got ..... struck by lightning.
