"how do you know that, Ruby? You stay out here let me go first."
"You have to believe me in this things Spooky," she walked to the door,
I followed her inside. The smell of regalia filled the room. I could smell him. He was so close; he is probably in the kitchen. That's exactly where Ruby was heading as if directed by an invisible hand.
He was there on the dining table, with a regalia burning between his fingers on the left hand.
Ruby bow to him in reverence, but I stood on the far end of the dining table. I fear if I move any closer I will not see him as clearly as I was seeing him now.
"I see you two have found each other? Repeating the cycle of life all over again. The cycle of our legacy. The resurrection of an ancient family folklore.
Ah! Kuga my boy you've a lot to learn yet. Alas, I have come here in answer to your call… but I found your questions in flight.
You have nothing to ask me now, except gape at me, aye! Vice of a sceptic, a disbeliever in the hidden and absurd.
Sit with me now, my good friend. Let's smoke and reminisce. I wish I could apologize for walking into your humble abode uninvited, but age weary the bones my boy, notwithstanding diplomacy," Nebulous said evenly.
"you are welcome old friend," I sat as Ruby walked into the cooking area, putting a tea pot on the stove, and seem to make herself inconspicuous.
"Old friend. Emm ! I like the sound of that kuga, it means you are in a friendly mode, which is doubtful after your turbulent escapade with Nka in the garden," he said in a chuckled.
His long white beard shaking at the act. Dangling on his shoulders where long white logs of hair. The man looked ancient indeed.
"I don't know where to start Nebulous. What is going on?"
"Where do you want to start kuga? The beginning or the end?"
"Everything starting with grandma Makilla," I said, knowing the whole puzzle starts with the mystic old woman.
Nebulous grin boyishly, "want to take me back to the blissful past, err kuga? Why not asked her yourself kuga? Because she is here with us. In this very room, she is probably as confused as you, but she however, is more enlighten than you are."
"Where is she?" I asked as Ruby, begun serving tea, the smell and flavor taste unlike anything I have ever tasted.
"This taste wonderful babe, what kind of tea is that?"
"Its called the misty tea in your grandma dialect ," Nebulous interjected and the room went icy cold, when I raised my head to lock eyes with him.
"What are you up to old man?".
"Oh finally, here comes the grandson I know so well," he giggled, with Ruby.
"Makilla is sitting right before you kuga, or to put it more rationally; her kind, or will I say incarnate."
"Spooky, this is what I was trying to tell you in the garden…." Ruby said solemnly. I was shocked beyond words.
Then slowly I heard myself murmur, "It can't be her,…"
"I am Makilla in sprit, not in body. Your grandpa once had the toothless sign, and Makilla had to travel from distance lands across the globe to find him.
Just like all the Makilla that came before her, and lived in her time…"
"you mean Makilla is more of a tittle than a name, and there are women like you as we speak looking for men like me."
"that's as close as you can get kuga," Nebulous rejoined.
My head went on a spiral spin. I felt dreamy and sleepy, but my mind wouldn't give in to the bizarre mysterious folklore that was seducing me to sleep.
"you mean you are also a Sagittarius and an earth dragon?" I directed the question to Nebulous and he nodded;
"Toothless with eight missing incisors, and an earth dragon, but I, however, was born a Virgo under the zodiac, close enough to Sagittarius. So I didn't fit all three categories.
But Makilla wouldn't let go… we clang to each other. We thought our strong bond will be powerful enough to defy the laws but it didn't. it destroys us both, and infested us with hatred, the like of which I wouldn't want even for those who called themselves my enemies…" he paused and added.
"Now you two have a long battle ahead of you, both among your selves and those who will be coming after you," Nebulous warned.
"I believe this is what was in the papers grandma gave to me on her death bed?"
"That and more, spooky. It's what help me to discover depths of what I am. I discovered it in your safe deposit box during the renovation after to the attack on your life.
"How long do you intend to be playing with me , woman! All this while you had those papers, but you never say anything. what the hell, Ruby!"
"I had wan.."
"I don't want to hear a word from you Ruby! how can I trust you when you keep lying to me with your silence!?"
What is the woman doing to me...? she flattens her palms on her face, shivering with emotions.
I wish I could hate her, lush out at her, cursed her, but as all I wanted to do was wrapped her in my arms and kiss away her bloody tears.
I just because I couldn't do this things to her only inflamed my inner world. Turbulent grave alien feelings. And I knew it then, I will die one day and it will be in the arms of this woman.
keeping myself in check, I managed to asked;
"where are this papers now?"
