Chapter 166 - Not Another Enemy Raid II

●●05:33 A.M. - Burger Joint●●●

"Sam, wear your suit. At eight-o-ten, you will enter the campaign office with Dean and Bobby. Ask for a meeting with the congressman regarding PAC donations…"

"If he isn't there?"

"Then you'll be meeting with Cecil Demayo. Either way, make sure to inform anyone of authority that I'll be–through my personal accountant–be auditing the five million dollars I've donated throughout the past two months."

"And if any unforeseen event happened?"

"As long as we do our job properly, nothing unforeseen will happen. There's a contingency in place, even if you don't know–."

"He meant when shit hits the fan."

"Ugh. Then reveal who you are and start getting people out of there. By any means necessary."

●●08:09 A.M. - Dean Winchester●●●

For the third time in his hunting career, Dean entered a place that he had visited and killed monsters on before. The other two times were not a pleasant visit at all, and he doubted that this one would be different.

What was different, however, he had back-up from nine different people and had formed five different back-up plans. Still, he was nervous and, although he wouldn't admit it in front of everyone, a bit afraid that it would end in a tragedy.

"Get ready, boys." Bobby clapped them on the shoulder as Sammy took the front and walked in front of what seemed to be the receptionist.

Sammy fixed his tie and cleared his throat. The woman was startled from her seat, her earphones jumping out of her ears.

"Oh, tall. Hi. Sorry. How can I, uh, help you?"

Sam smiled, placing his arm across the counter. "Hi. I'm Jimmy Page, CPA. I work for Richard Greythorne, well, as a partner in his firm. Nevertheless, I was wondering if you could tell Congressman Brown that I'm here to audit his financial records."

"Oh, well, uh, I'm afraid that Congressman Brown is not available at the moment. His guest, um, Mr. Greythorne has gone missing." The receptionist explained as her fingers typed out on her computer.

"Then, Ms. Cecil Demayo. I think she's, uh, handles the funds for–"

"The Brown campaign. I know, sir. Would you like to sit down while I check if Ms. Demayo is free for a walk-in appointment?" She smiled at him, tapping her keyboard with practiced ease.

Their conversation had long been noticed by the security guard posted at the entrance and two more in the office

It was Dean's time to shine as he moved forward and flashed the woman with his smile. "'Sup. You noticed me last night, right?"

The receptionist nodded her head. "Ah, yeah. You were part of Mr. Greythorne's retinue."

"Richard wants the funding sheets and other account bullshit from… anyone basically A.S.A.P. Can you get anyone for us, sweetheart?" Dean ordered politely, still going through the rigorous process of being kind.

If it were him, he would have gone in guns or Angel Blades blazing; but he was not the pointman in this mission. Richard was. Before the receptionist could answer Dean's orders, a commotion from inside the office had grown loud enough to be heard by Dean and the others.

"Hey! Open this door." Dean shared a look with his brother before the two of them walked forward, ignoring the futile attempts of the receptionist to stop them.

Noticing them entering, Bobby's hand went into his pockets as he eyed the guard posted at the door. "Calm down. This is a political matter, son. You ain't paid enough to get involved." He warned the guard with enough gravitas that the latter stopped in his tracks.

"Can someone go around the back and check it out? Lawry, get me the keys." A woman was banging her hands on the door as she continuously rattled its frame.

"What's happening?" Sammy asked with a scrunched eyebrow, but before he could get an answer from any person, an explosion rocked the room behind the door.

The sound was loud enough to terrify and surprise those near it, causing the woman to jump away as the door nearly broke off its hinges from something smashing against it.

Dean looked at the panic the explosion had set and then at his brother. "I'd say this is when shit hits the fan."

"Yeah." Sammy answered breathily as he pulled his Glock and fired three shots in the air. "Everybody out of the building. Now!"

Screams filled the air as men and women alike ran to the nearest exit, crowding the doors and preventing the security personnel from getting to Sammy.

"Dean, let's go!" Sammy tried to go for the door, but Dean grabbed him by the shoulder. "What are you doing?"

"That son of a bitch is in there," He said, referring to Gordon Walker. "And he got this. He ain't gonna die like a bitch. We need to complete the mission."

Sammy groaned but nevertheless agreed with him as he pushed against the crowd. A guard had waded through the crowd and was about to tackle Sammy, but Booby had appeared before he could.

The old man used the pommel on his Angel Blade against the security guard's temple, which immediately knocked the guard down into unconsciousness. The guard hit his head on a desk on the way down and was now bleeding on two sides of his head.

Dean kicked open the stairwell door before pointing his gun at the open entrance. Seeing no enemy coming out, he entered and climbed up to the second floor.

"Oh, balls." He heard Bobby groaning as he followed up the stairs.

"We only have six minutes before the cops show up, Dean. What's the next step?" Sammy asked, taking out his Angel Blade.

"Third floor. Escort out the Congressman's son," Dean answered with practiced ease as he had already ingrained the plan into his brain, having been there when Richard was planning it. "That dick already killed his nanny. We just need to find him and get the fuck outta here."

He slid on the concrete floor of the third-floor landing and gently grabbed the metal rim of the door, catching his breath for a few moments. While he did so, Bobby ran halfway through the fourth-floor and guarded the door while Sammy guarded their rear.

As he slowly pushed open the door, the whole building shook with the strength of a magnitude five earthquake. He quickly crouched down, worry and fear coursing through his brain.

Before he could process the earthquake, an explosion resounded above them, which was followed by a horrendous, ear-deafening scream that pierced through three thick concrete floors.

"What are we waiting for?" Bobby asked rhetorically as he pushed past Dean and jogged towards Joseff's room.

Sammy chuckled all of a sudden. "Well, now we know how much he liked his legs."

Dean groaned happily as he, too, rushed towards the room. Richard had given them a blueprint of the building, an old one from before it was refurbished by the Browns; which meant that, although they knew where to go and where the exits were, there was an off-chance that a plaster wall or a door had been replaced somewhere.

Still, Richard had given them an item for building obstruction, one that Dean had hoped not to use because that would mean that the escort plan would go off unhinged. That was, of course, before Gordon Walker cocked up his part of the plan.

Joseff's room was a two-bedroom apartment, one for his personal use and the other was classified as his learning room. Although he was pulled from public school due to bullying, the Browns still wanted their son to live a normal life–however hard it would be.

As such, it was then–Richard had told them–that one of the Sassuratu had applied to be a nanny and teacher for the kid. One by one and slowly by slowly, the sisters of the Sassuratu embedded themselves into the lives of Anthony and Linda Brown.

While the millionaire hunter had not expressed the whole truth of the matter, Dean had already guessed that the pagan gods may have been planning this whole thing for decades. Down to the husband and wife falling in love and the birth of their first child.

Linda may not have been aware of her role in their ultimate plan, but she was the important step in it. In order to gain leverage from her in case she wouldn't agree to Richard's pleas, they needed to have someone that would invoke something more primal than her sense of preservation.

"We're here." Sammy muttered, stopping a few feet away from an alabaster-white door full of doodles and pictures of Joseff and his family.

Sammy knocked on the door thrice, waiting for an answer that arrived no sooner than he let his arm rest on his side. The door opened slightly to reveal Joseff Brown peeking through the hole.

"Hello?" He greeted hesitantly.

Bobby smiled warmly, groaning down to his knees to meet the kid's eye. "Hey, kid. Remember me?"

"Dinner last night. Are you here to play Doom with me?" Joseff asked and was now eyeing Sammy, who smiled sweetly at the kid.

"I don't know what that is, but you need to come with us. Is that alright?" Bobby coaxed him out gently. "You and your mother are not safe here. There are people going to hurt you, and we need to keep you safe."

Dean was confused as to why Bobby was telling the kid the truth when that would just lead to more noise from the kid. His fears were proven true when the door suddenly closed and they were left in the hall for a moment.

"What the hell was that for–" The door opened once more and, to his disbelief, Joseff had a backpack on his back and keys in his hands.

"Let's go." He said, walking past the three of them and towards the elevator.

Sammy looked at Bobby with a weird expression on his face, "How'd you know that he would do that?"

Bobby shrugged, "I didn't. I just know that he's just as human as any of us."
