They waited and waited until nightfall .Lin Hao whispered to the boss as they observed Cheng leaving the library.
"We've been tailing him for days," Lin Hao continued. "He knows some martial arts, but he hasn't even begun cultivating."
The boss, dressed in a black robe, considered their next move. "We can't underestimate him. Young master warned us that he might possess a magic treasure or be hiding his true cultivation. Let's surround him and have Li Wei attack with full force."
Li Wei adjusted his black robe and nodded, his arrogant smirk reflecting his readiness. "Sure, boss. I'll give it my all."
The boss's tone turned serious. "Remember, this is a do-or-die situation. Either we kill him or we escape the sect. There's no going back. Young master won't hesitate to eliminate us. You know how narcissistic he can be."
His last words drifted in the darkness as the squad disappeared into the night.
Meanwhile, Cheng increased his speed as he nimbly traveled from tree to tree. Unfortunately for him, this cursed path was the only way to get home, which is why he remained cautious despite nothing happening in the last month.
The air feels refreshing," Cheng remarked, relishing the sensation against his face that sent a pleasant shiver down his spine. Yet, he couldn't help but long for his family and the comforts of his luxurious apartment back on Earth. This world still felt foreign to him, with its unfamiliar culture, and the seemingly sadistic nature of its inhabitants.
Thoughts of his family's demise resurfaced, kindling a deep-seated anger within him. His eyes momentarily flashed red, his expression contorted as he clenched his teeth.
"I will definitely kill them all and avenge you, father and mother. Even if it takes countless years, I will not rest until my death!"
This bitter phrase continued echoing in his mind as he increased his speed to the limit.
"Boss, he should have already noticed us. We should send Li Wei before it's too late," Lin Hao said.
"Li Wei, go after him and kill him in one strike. If you fail, try to hold him until we arrive and surround him," Liu Yan gave his order, increasing his pace.
"Consider it done, boss," Li Wei responded before disappearing into the shadows. His stealth was impeccable, concealed even from his comrades, who were already in the early stages of foundation establishment.
"The shade-walking technique, what a terrifying technique. Unfortunately, it's challenging to obtain, let alone cultivate," Zheng Lei said in annoyance as he flipped the giant mace he was holding.
He had a colossal body, almost two meters tall. Every inch of his body exuded undeniable strength, clad in a flowing purple-black robe that swayed with the whispering wind. His muscles rippled beneath the fabric, hinting at the immense power that lay dormant within this behemoth.
Lin Hao jumped in fear from this imposing figure and distanced himself from Zheng Lei, While Liu Yan chuckled.
Deep in the forest, Cheng could be seen running peacefully, his steps controlled and making almost no sound.
"I should go hunting tomorrow to test the effectiveness of this cultivation technique," he thought to himself.
His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of something tearing through the air with horrifying speed, which directly pierced his shoulder. He couldn't resist as he was pinned to a tree dozens of feet away.
" Ahhhhhh!! What the hell is happening?" Cheng screamed in pain, blood gushing from his wound.
A couple of seconds later, a black figure appeared in his field of vision, radiating a palpable killing intent from its eyes.
"Huh, I expected something alas you're just a weakling " the black figure said in a chilling voice. "I should have some fun with you until they arrive."
These words made Cheng's face contort with a mix of anger . He felt helpless, his body trembling from the pain and the realization that he was at the mercy of this sadistic and crazy man.
"Just who is this man attacking me" He thought in frusturation.
His stress reached a crescendo as he tried to find a way out. Alas, the black figure, Li Wei, disappeared and reappeared in front of him.
"HAHAHAH, we'll start with the nails, then the ears, the skin, and finally the eyes—my favorite dish," Li Wei mumbled, his voice like the scratching of claws on a chalkboard, as he took off his cape and revealed his aged face.
"What the fuck is wrong with you, you fucking ugly old man!" Cheng's rage and wrath reached their peak as he shouted with extreme malice at Li Wei.
Li Wei's eyes, sunken and hollow, held a gaze that chilled the very marrow of one's bones. But at this moment, he frowned, as he truly didn't expect such an extreme reaction—not fear, but anger.
Then his thin, cracked lips curled into a perpetual sneer, revealing yellowed, decaying teeth as he said, "That's more like it. Your resistance makes it even more pleasurable."
He brought his shriveled hands closer to Cheng and caught his right hand, producing a disturbing sound followed by a sharp scream of agony and pain.
"One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, and finished! Ahahahah! What a good feeling, aren't I right, brother Cheng?" Li Wei taunted.
"Damn it! Damn it! YOU FUCKING OLD HAG !" Cheng almost fainted from the pain. This old man was using something to increase his sensitivity, as if the normal pain from broken fingers wasn't enough, it made him experience even more agony. As his hands flowed with blood like a river.
"Wait, blood, physical touch... BLOODREAP! I can use it," Cheng realized. He immediatly turned towards Li Wei and pleaded, "Please spare my life. I'm begging you. I'll do anything."
But Li Wei ignored him, conjured a small blade in his hand, and murmured, "I should hurry. I don't have much time."
Just as Li Wei started cutting Cheng's ear, Cheng Xiao moved his head with great difficulty and managed to touch Li Wei's hand. Instantly, a sinister transformation took place in his body as countless red tentacles exploded from Cheng's body and entered Li Wei's, piercing his heart in a second.
"Whooof, that was close," Cheng said, looking at Li Wei taking his last breath. "How...?"
As he caught his breath, Cheng's mind swirled with a myriad of emotions. Relief washed over him, knowing that he had managed to finnaly get rid of this piece of trash.
"But why the heck would he even attack me "Cheng felt wronged, he never saw this man, nor heard of him, cheng was furious.
With no hesitation he instantly grabbed Li Wei's head and used the Malevolent Bloodreap technique, summoning intangible red tentacles that devoured the him in a matter of seconds, leaving behind a shriveled corpse.
Cheng closed his eyes, feeling the rush of energy and blood in his body. His vitality increased at lightning speed as he broke through the early stage of the Qi Condensation realm and entered the peak of the middle stage.
"What! I BROKE THROUGHT!! just like that!!!" Cheng was astouned by the might of this horrid technique, he clenched his fist in excitement, he felt incredibly happy about the results of this cultivation technique. in the midst of his excitement his eyes suddenly glowed red as his perception caught three figures running towards him a couple of hundred feet away.
"I only need one second if I pushed the bloodreap to the limit, to kill any foundation establishement expert " He thought contemplating if he should run or fight.
In the end he didn't run, as the temptation was too much, he carefully hid, waiting for his visitors arrival .
