Chereads / The simulator system / Chapter 3 - Unforseen destiny

Chapter 3 - Unforseen destiny

12 AM. a year after arriving in this world.

Derek looked at holographic screen in front of him in excitement, a surge of pure joy coursed through him.

The phenomenon unfolding before Derek was undeniably extraordinary. He took a deep breath to steady himself and carefully scanned the ethereal display that had materialized. A line of enigmatic words materialized in his field of vision:

[Welcome to the simulator system, esteemed host.]

Age: 25

Travel points: 100 (gifted by the system)

Innate talent: Photographic memory

World available:

First world; automatically unlocked

Coordinates: Pinned

Name: UNKNOWN

Price: 50 travel points

[Should the host acquire any information, the program stands ready to answer your questions.]

Having absorbed this information, Derek's excitement reached a crescendo. His trembling lips betrayed his elation as he contemplated reaching out to touch the holographic screen. However, to his bewilderment, his small fingers effortlessly passed through the projection, encountering no resistance whatsoever. Surveying his surroundings, Derek noticed that no one seemed to pay him any particular attention.

Withdrawing his hand, Derek silently pondered within himself, if what he was seeing was truly real or was he simply hallucinating, he had to make sure that this is the real deal . So he asked.

"System, how have I arrived in this place, and what precisely is this simulator system?" he asked, his curiosity tinged with a hint of caution.

[Unfortunately, dear host, my current authority level does not permit me to answer the former question. As for the latter, the simulator serves as a tool for traversing between worlds.]

"Inadequate authority... So, if I were to attain sufficient authority, would I then receive the answers ?" Derek inquired, hoping for a positive response.

[Indeed, esteemed host. With increased authority, your questions shall be met with the desired answers.]

"Can you explain more of the functionalities of this simulator," Derek requested, yearning for a deeper understanding of this extraordinary system.

[First and foremost, the host must understand that, at present, only one world is all accessible. As you accumulate more travel points, additional worlds shall unlock their mysteries before you. Secondly, the time between the worlds is different and host should be careful. Time can flow at an accelerated pace, with a century passing in the blink of an eye, or inversely, a year might span a mere day or a day transform into a week. If the host wishes to know the time difference between two diffrent worlds, travel points must be expended.

As the message unfurled before Derek's eyes, he experienced a profound realization. Excitement intermingled with newfound clarity as he asked, "How can II amass additional travel points?"

[The more you shape the world, influencing the lives and histories of its inhabitants, the greater the bounty of points bestowed upon you.]

Derek's racing thoughts gradually settled as a gleam of determination flickered within his eyes. The limitless possibilities and untapped potential of this incredible power became apparent. He could finally change his destiny.

"I just entered this world, Departing so swiftly seems like a bad idea . Firstly, let me see the temporal disparity between this world and the alternate one," Derek contemplated internally.

"Can you tell the difference in time between these two worlds?" Derek asked with anticipation.

[To obtain the knowledge of temporal variance, the cost amounts to 25 travel points. Shall the host confirm the purchase?]

"Yes," Derek affirmed eagerly, his resolve unyielding.

[One day in the original world equates to a one year within the alternate realm.]

"WHATTTT!" Derek exclaimed, his eyes nearly popping out of their sockets, his voice a mixture of disbelief and awe.

Yet, beneath the initial shock, a surge of exuberance pulsed through Derek's being. This unexpected revelation presented a massive opportunity for getting experience, as well as living for countless years, just the thought that he can go to other worlds almost made him crazy from excitment.

Despite his excitement, he quickly calmed and began to think rationally.

"If I get to spend more than 100 years in the other world, that'll be 100 days here, This is basically cheating."

He frowned as he thought "But What will happened to this body ? "

"Hey system can you tell what's gonna happen to my body when im not in this place.

[About this matter host does not need to worry, the system will take control of your body, with its artificial intelligence no problem will occur, as long as the host sets the right goals that should be followed.]

"So that's how it was " Derek said as he fell into deep though, contemplating the current situation .

Moments later, Derek felt his head about to split and his small eyes squinted in pain.

"it seems my thought are too much for this body underdeveloped brain" this was his last words before he unknownly lost consciousness drifting into the dream world .

...

In the distant north, an eerie fog blanketed the sky, casting a somber mood over the estate of the Rosalind clan. As the dominant faction in the region, this powerful duke household wielded unimaginable influence over their territory and the surrounding lands. Though the nearby lords offered feeble resistance, they still held deep respect and fear for this ancient family that had transformed the once-frigid and desolate north into a prosperous realm renowned for its thriving economy and bustling trade. Merchants frequented this expansive land, drawn to its magnificence and myriad opportunities.

The Rosalind family played a pivotal role in the region's rise, having relocated countless years ago. They successfully repelled invading forces and devised ingenious strategies to overcome economic crises, garnering favor from the royal court and the Pharaoh. In fact, in the past century, those who received the Pharaoh's favor could be counted on one hand. This favor bestowed upon them facilitated rapid promotions and prestigious positions, as everyone feared offending this influential clan that had reached the pinnacle of power.

...

Meanwhile, the oblivious Derek awakened and immediately reflected on the past events. His eyes flickered with doubt, prompting him to mentally summon the system once more. To his surprise, a holographic screen materialized before him rendering his earlier doubts useless.

After carefully considering the advantages and disadvantages of this system, He finally decided.

He said as he gazed deeply at the screen in front of him.

"System use 50 points for travel at this moment"

[ Are you certain host that you want to initiat the travel ? ]

*Yes

*No

Looking at this Derek mentally clicked {yes}

[User 's wish is confirmed:

Please give instructions to the Ai for the original body]

Seeing this he thought to himself :

Well make sure to not show any abnormal actions and behaviour, try to show emotions and keep a low key, after all im not gonna be there for a long time, im still a baby so i should be safe."

[Confirmed]

Immediately, Derek lost consciousness instantly, overwhelmed by some foreign force.

Only to wake up the next moment with a splitting headache "Ahhhhhh!" A sharp scream rang out in the air, the pain was unbearable, as he fell on the ground his body twisting in pain.

After a few seconds of ragged breathing, Derek gradually calmed down as the excruciating pain subsided, leaving him with a newfound clarity and ease.

"That fast.."

He kind of expected a long journey before he could reach this place but not this fast.

Taking in his surroundings, he found himself in a dilapidated room, or rather, a cave. Darkness permeated the space, with only a faint glimmer of light at the far end, confused, Derek turned to the system for answers.

"Hey, system, where am I?"

[Congratulations, host, for entering this world. You are in one of the caves of the illustrious Celestial Ascendancy Sect, a prestigious faction in the western continent. Your new identity is Cheng Xiao, a 22-year-old young man, the son of a poor peasant working as an assistant to the outer disciple Yan Xia.

Note: Host can absorb this body's memories, but the system recommends doing so later due to health reasons.]

Derek's eyes sparkled with delight, his body trembling with excitement. He had traversed worlds—how extraordinary!

"And when can I absorb those memories?"

[It is advisable for the host to wait at least 2 hours before initiating the process. your soul needs time to adapt to this new vassal.]

"Hmm..."

After expressing his understanding his eyes darted around the place as he cautiously approached the faint light, seizing what appeared to be a lamp, and ventured forth to explore his surroundings. A few steps away, he discovered a neatly arranged white bed, surprisingly well-crafted and clean, only the darkness and the bed existed in this cave's confines, sharply carved to creat a square chamber.

"He lived this simply!" he thought, clearly conflicted about the plain structure of this place.

After exploring the place, Derek sat and waited patiently.

"Ah... How much longer must I wait?" Derek exclaimed, his voice unexpectedly smooth and charming But incredibly listless.

As the last word escaped his mouth he gasped in surprise.

"Is this really my voice?" He marveled at the sound resonating from lips. His voice ringed with magnificence, soft and low, each syllable articulated, with a flowing rhythm and inflection that was almost musical.

The noble and elegant demeanor of his precedor, remained deeply rooted in his bones, eventually becoming natural behaviour.

" I'm genuinely intrigued by this guy's past right now." Derek thought as he massaged his temples in discomfort.

Derek noted his toned body underneath a red and silky robe that covered his pale skin, unintentionally bestowing him an alluring presence that stirs repressed desires, joined with his aesthetic appearance, he was fundamentally the definition of desire.
