The sun already rose on the horizon. I was sitting on the wooden deck near the garden and thinking about the advantages of the passives to choose from. There are 3 passives.
Fire element mastery
Super strength
Elemental manifestation
Fire mastery and super strength will upgrade my power directly. Super strength can be useful for the blacksmithing lessons that my father talked about. But these two will not help me too much in the future. Then, I have elemental manifestation, which has no power improvement for myself but it can be used with my blacksmithing to make new artifacts depending on my current and future summons, with it I can sell it or I can use it in my summoning ritual. Ok, I take it back, elemental manifestation can directly improve my power by giving me the option to do more summoning and directly empowering me.
Now the issue is which one out of these three options will be more potent for me. If I take elemental manifestation and if I assume I can learn to forge an artifact within 3 weeks then I will be able to do another summoning in the next 3 weeks and I will not waste too many resources to gather another artifact. Although right now I am not gathering the artifacts needed for my summoning ritual I should be able to alleviate some burden off my father.
I think it is time to inform my choice.
"Mom, is the breakfast ready? I am really hungry."
"Yes, it is ready, please wake up Throne. He is not here yet.", replied my mother.
"Ok"
While going toward the room where Thorne's sleeping, "He is not up yet?"
I knocked on the door of the room and waited for some time but no one replied. Thinking Throne is sleeping went in.
I saw Throne writing something on the table, he was so engrossed by it that he didn't notice that I came inside his room.
"What are you writing?"
I saw his writing pen tremble a little, he turned towards me with tears in his eyes. I was surprised to see tears in his eyes.
"Why are you crying?"
"I am not crying. It must be dust."
"Oh, so there is dust here. I will clean it after today's morning session. Oh, I almost forgot why I came here. Breakfast is ready please join us in the common room."
"Oh, sure I am coming."
I didn't ask what he was writing after I saw tears in his eyes. Anyone would have cried if they came to a completely unknown space. Moreover, he had to sleep in a stranger's room alone for the whole night. Besides he is a small kid like me, around 5 years old, I think.
I went into the common room and sat there.
"Where is Thorne?"
"He said he is coming.", I replied while looking from where I came and I saw Throne coming towards us with some papers in his arms.
"I am here, Aunty.", Thorne said while bowing down.
"Please have a sit and have your breakfast."
"Ok"
He sat down beside me, my father helped my mother to carry the food and utensils from the kitchen. Then we sat and had our breakfast together.
"Dad, I-"
"Hmm, Azriel, I have said it many times don't talk while eating."
"Sorry, Mom", I replied
We finished breakfast, and I instantly ran towards the garden.
"Hmm-hmm, I have something to give you.", said Throne while looking at me.
I looked around and saw both of my parents looking at me.
"Ok", I walked back to my chair
"So, Throne, please continue, you looked like you wanted to say something to us."
"Yes, yesterday Mr. Thormbringer to-"
"Stop! Call me Uncle Lucian"
"Ok, so Uncle Lucian told me to teach Azriel about blacksmithing. So I wrote some interactions between different materials in different conditions. Please go through it and we would need a forge to practice blacksmithing also."
Thorne continued, "And for today we just need an anvil and some metal strips to teach how to use the hammer since the metal is out of the forge. Hammering is a very crucial step in forging an artifact. So I think you just study the papers I will give you and in the evening we will practice how to use the hammer."
