"You can put your guns down. Gio isn't going anywhere," I said. Vex and AJ exchanged a brief glance before slowly lowering their guns and slipping them back into their pockets. "Is it just me, or do I sense something going on between Kai and Souline?" she asked, her eyes shifting.
Gio turned to face Giana. "What else could be going on between them, Giana?" he asked. But Giana wasn't phased. "I don't know," she said. "It's just... the way they interact sometimes. It's... different."
