Kai's pov:
Michael dropped us off at Alliana's house and waited for us behind the yard. I looked around and saw that everything was clear, that no one was awake, and that there were no vehicles. Denzel and Vex went to hide behind some trees in front of her house, while AJ and I went to her porch.
I bought a pin so I wouldn't have to disassemble the door. The door opened smoothly and quietly, without making a sound. AJ and I carefully entered the house with caution because we couldn't see anything.
I quickly grabbed my flashlight and passed it to AJ to hold. We looked around the house for the staircase. It took us a while to get around Alliana's living room. AJ was about to go somewhere when he tripped on something and made a faint sound. I quickly looked at him and flashed him the light. "What are you doing?" I hissed at him. "I didn't do anything; I fucking tripped," AJ explained before standing up.
