Chapter 284 - Chapter 284: Leaving Again

A few minutes later.

"Ah~ I'm full."

Kara rubbed her stomach and sat down on the couch with a satisfied expression on her face.

Jack and Clark talked about what was going on.

"So, you learned the whole story from Kara and want me to help? What can I do for you?"

Jack looked at Clark, who seemed a bit embarrassed and smiled, "Relax, Clark. After all, we're friends, and I'll definitely help a friend."

"Reviving your adoptive father and biological parents is a piece of cake!"

When hearing this, Clark's face lit up with joy. However, his happiness didn't last long, as Jack's next words left him deep in thought.

"But everything comes at a price, Clark, and you should know that."

Jack adjusted his expression and calmly said,

"Reviving three people comes with a cost. Can you afford it?"

Clark's face grew heavier. Although he didn't want to admit it, he was indeed broke.

Don't expect a reporter to be wealthy, even if he's Superman.

The Fortress of Solitude in Antarctica was the only thing he could think of to give.

Even though he was hesitant, he probably wouldn't need it anymore if it meant bringing his parents back to life.

Clark was about to say something firm because he had made up his mind, but Jack interrupted him.

"Don't worry about it, it's part of the process,"

Jack suddenly smiled, waving his hand.

"Since I know how determined you are, Clark, I'll ask you if you want your adopted father and your real parents to come back to life."

"I do!"

Hearing Jack's words and seeing his serious expression, Clark also became more solemn and slowly voiced his answer.

In an instant, It felt like the fate of this universe had been changed, and some things had changed in a way that couldn't be changed back.

Jack felt a sudden emptiness inside him, and although it was short, it made him realize the importance of Superman.

The consumption of resurrecting three people was nearly as much as reshaping a Krypton.

Of course, this was because of the relationship between the people and Clark. For an average person, it wouldn't require this much.

"Go home quickly, Clark or Jonathan Kent might suffocate in the coffin."

Jack stood up, patted Clark's shoulder, and without saying another word, went to sit beside Kara.

The two cuddled up and started watching TV.

Clark saw the situation and knew it was time for him to leave. After saying goodbye, he left Metropolis by flying through the window.

Instead of going home directly, he went to the cemetery where his adoptive father was buried.

He hadn't forgotten Jack's words, and with his speed, he quickly arrived at the graveyard.

There was no need to search on purpose. In the quiet cemetery at night, the sounds of knocking and shouting had already reached Clark's ears.

Without wasting time, Clark, as fast as Flash, he quickly dug up the coffin buried underground.

Clark quickly opened the box and looked at the person inside.

"Clark?! Is... is that you?"

"Dad!"

...

In the apartment.

"Did you really resurrect Clark's adoptive father and his biological parents?"

Kara couldn't resist her curiosity and finally spoke up.

"Of course, didn't you already see it?"

With a relaxed expression on his face, Jack gently stroked Kara's stomach to help her digest the food she had just eaten.

"Bringing people back to life might be harder than putting the planet back together, but it's still possible."

"Then..."

Kara looked confused and seemed to have trouble finding the right words. Jack put his hand on her head and said,

"You better not go back to Krypton for now."

"Why?!"

Kara didn't know what to do when the subject changed, so she had trouble understanding.

"Being away makes you miss someone more. Your adoptive mom probably won't have time for you, and your dad is likely the same."

"Are you saying...?!!!"

"So, do you want it? To have both of your fathers back?"

"Of course!"

...

Two months later.

It had been two months since the rebirth of Krypton.

During this time, Kara almost ran between Earth and Krypton every day.

She worked on Earth during the day, and after work, she rushed to Krypton with Jack to spend some time together.

Although Krypton had been restored, the work was far from over.

Jack didn't bring back all the Kryptonians. He only brought back the El family, which included Kara, Clark, and their families.

The rest would be built up over time.

Even though there weren't many Kryptonians left after the destruction, there were still a lot. With Superman's help and time, it was only a matter of time before Krypton regained its former glory.

During this period, they had a lot to do.

Kara couldn't stand by while her planet was being fixed up, so she was very busy.

Even though she was tired sometimes, Kara enjoyed every day and fell asleep every night with a smile on her face in Jack's arms.

All the things she loved were back with her again, so how could she not be happy?

As for Jack, he didn't do anything.

He gave them a lot of construction robots and helped them solve the problem of the Kryptonian prison, Fort Rozz, on Earth.

Kara brought Fort Rozz, Krypton's highest-security prison, with her to Earth.

It was a prison for some of the most dangerous villains in the universe and would cause Kara a lot of trouble in the future.

With only three months left until the deadline, Jack took care of them so Kara wouldn't have to worry about them.

He got rid of all the hidden criminals, including Kara's aunt, by sending them right back to the Phantom Zone.

Unfortunately, Jack had only watched a few episodes of the first season of Supergirl in his previous life, so he didn't know about Kara's later experiences.

But with the backup plan he left behind, he could handle most problems as long as Doomsday or Darkseid weren't involved.

Time slowly passed, but it felt like only a minute for Jack, yet it was already time for him to leave.

Jack was quiet for a long time as he looked at the big red circle on the living room calendar.

He was thinking about something else so much that he didn't even see Kara come home.

When Kara saw her lovely boyfriend staring motionlessly at the calendar, she couldn't help but be curious.

Wasn't that marked as a date today?

Why did Jack remember this day? Did he have some plans?

"Jack?"

She called out, but there was no response.

Raising an eyebrow, Kara walked up behind him and hugged him tightly.

"Oh... hey, Kara, when did you come back?"

Jack snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Kara. He had a short look of panic in his eyes.

"What's wrong with you?"

Kara sensed that something was off with Jack and walked to face him, looking at him with concern.

"No, I'm fine, really."

Jack patted Kara's head, trying to reassure her.

"Don't worry, I don't have any problems. Are you hungry? I'll go cook."

After saying that, Jack let go of Kara's hand, turned around, and headed toward the kitchen.

However, Kara's words made him pause in his steps.

"You're leaving, aren't you?"
