"They call us creatures from hell but really… were chosen." I say to a young boy no more than 8 years of age. He looks around the environment of the camp then looks back to me.

"Will I be safe?" he muttered, still shaken by the trauma from the lab the government sent him to.

I kneel in front of him. A tear falls along his cheek and I wipe it off the tear on his gorgeous rich brown skin and look at his scared brown eyes.

" Axel, Some of the others here are great at technology and they made a dome that hides the camp from the outside. No one can see us as long as we are in the dome's territory." I explained.

The boy looked around again and grinned.

" So everyone here is like me?" he asked

I stood up and turned to look where Axel stared. Three young girls and two young boys were throwing a ball made of sunlight. I look back to Axel who is debating on going to play with them.

"Go, i promise nothing here will hurt you" I encouraged.

As soon as I blinked he was over with the kids playing. I realized he has advanced speed. Axel is a chosen of Hermes,the Greek messenger god known for his speed.

"Valka, Induna ran off again and most likely in-"yelled a 16 year old girl.

"In the forest" I figured. "Thanks Taylor,I'll get her," I said. I start to run to the forest outside the dome. I followed the tail that I made to help campers find the camp and ran until I heard a muffled high pitch scream. I followed the scream through the trees and quietly hid behind a tree as soon as I saw Iduna. Two troopers surround Iduna, both armed. Iduna tried to kick one of the troopers but the trooper punched Iduna to the ground. I closed my eyes and made a duplicate of myself. My duplicate ran and made a sound loud enough to get the troopers attention. The two troopers talked among themselves and one of them took off in the direction of my duplicate. I summoned my silver dagger in my hands and slowly moved towards the remaining trooper from behind. suddenly stopped crying when she saw me. I quickly placed my finger up to my lips, signing to her to be quiet. Iduna stood up and threw multiple weak punches at the troopers chest. I suddenly grabbed the trooper's mouth and dragged him away from Iduna.

"RUN,NOW!" I ordered her. Iduna did just that running back towards camp. I kicked the trooper to his knees and stabbed him. I looked more closely at the man's uniform and noticed a symbol of the U.S Army. the sound of a gun cocking filled my ears. I slowly turned around. To be honest I forgot about him. "Look, I'm busy right now and don't have time for you so if you don't mind, lower your pathetic weapon and let me kill you." I humored. The man didn't move an inch, and I huffed. Fine looks like it's going to be the hard way. I moved my head side to side and I shapeshifted to a wolf. The trooper dropped his gun and started to run and tripped over himself in the process. I charged after him and grabbed him and threw him into a nearby tree. The man laid on the ground lifeless and I walked to a tree that Iduna had hid behind and I helped her climb up to my back and spirited back to camp.

When we got back to camp Axel and the other kids were still playing with the ball of light and Taylor was teaching a chosen of Apollo how to play the lyre. I slowly lay down so Iduna can safely get off. I felt Iduna's body sliding down my fur and when she was off all my fur felt was the clean air. I quickly shaped myself back into a person and I turned to see iduna trying to run and hide from my lecture.

"Iduna, daughter of Hades and Persephone!" I shouted. Iduna tensed when she heard her parents name. And turned around eyes looking at the ground. some of the other kids stopped and turned in our direction.

" This is the third time this week you ran outside the dome without me, Taylor, or …. This is the third time you put yourself and the whole camp at risk of getting handed back to the government!" Now most of the camp was watching. " As a reminder to all the children from the ages four to thirteen, you do not leave the camp dome unless accompanied by a trained chosen. Is that understood?" The whole camp nodded in response and I turned back to Iduna. " for the rest of the month, you will not go anywhere on camp without a trained chosen. End of story"

Iduna looked up to my face, her eyes were swollen red and tears were all over her face. She waited for me to say something but when she realized that I wasn't she took off running back to our cabin.

" don't be too hard on her, she's only 6". I turn around and see Sage. Sage is 17 and a chosen of demeter. Her long blonde locks flow past her breast, her amber eyes are like light coming through the darkness. She's wearing a long olive colored dress with a pouch full of herbs attached to a belt around her waist. "She needs to learn that I'm not joking about going outside the dome. She almost got killed or worse taken to a lab owned by the fuking government." I strictly explained. Sage gives a soft chuckle. "Valka, you were her age when the eclipse happened and was taken. I understand you want to keep her hidden, but just because you lost your childhood doesn't mean iduna should too" she countered. She was right she was only a child not only that but a goddess the daughter of hades and persephone.

"I will be back," I told sage. sage smiled and i walked towards my, and iduna's cabin.

My cabin is a simple one story house built out of dark logs. The porch is covered in Iduna's toys gifted by her parents. I open the door to see two beds on either side of the cabin. The right side was mine. Most of my side is filled with weapons, you can never be sure when you might need them all. To the left was Iduna's side mostly filled with toys but there was a small dagger strapped to the end of the bed and next to it was Iduna. I turn on the light to tears rolling down Iduna's face. I walk to Iduna and wipe her tears away. "I'm sorry" I said. " I didn't mean to embarrass you. It's just with all the troops around this area recently I had to make sure everyone knew how serious this is." I explained that I sat beside Iduna and pulled her small body towards my chest. "I'm sorry I just don't like being stuck here" she sobbed. I hugged her closer to me knowing that she just wants to be a child. " Your mother also doesn't like to be caged up for a long time but we have no choice. I made an oath to your parents that I would protect you." I told. Iduna looked up and gently pulled my face down and kissed my cheek. " Do you like to be stuck here?" she asked "gods no i hate being caged in" i laughed and Iduna giggled. I placed Iduna on the bed and i stood up. " why don't you go play with the new chosen, Axel?" I suggested. Iduna beamed and got up. She hugged me and then ran past Taylor who was standing at the doorway. " You know I'm starting to think that she sees you as a second mother" she observed. " don't tell that to Persephone," I joked. Taylor is a chosen of freya, the norse goddess of love and fertility. I walk with taylor to the grand hall cabin to plan the next resuse.
