Divorce was something she spoke about whenever she argued with Alexander. She spoke about it so casually and spat those words so that she would make herself feel better yet every time she uttered those words, it felt as if something was stabbing her chest painfully.

Alexander's expression did not make it any better. He would often remain silent, his eyes betraying a mixture of hurt and resignation. It was as if her words pierced through his soul, leaving wounds that couldn't be easily healed.

Despite the arguments and the tension between them, Cindy knew deep down that she never truly wanted a divorce. The thought of living without Alexander, of losing the connection they shared, filled her with a profound sense of emptiness and sorrow. As much as she tried to convince herself otherwise during their heated exchanges, the idea of ending their marriage was a painful prospect she couldn't bear to fully confront.
