Chapter 87 - Reunion

Samiel's relief was palpable as he seized the perfect opportunity to divert the conversation. The carriage came to a halt, settling at the entrance of the grand house.

"Shall we proceed, Grandpa?" Samiel urged Lord Magnus, eager to disembark.

"Oh, in a hurry to see your sweetheart, are you?" Lord Magnus teased, mischief twinkling in his eyes.

"What? No!" Samiel protested, his cheeks flushing. "I just wanted a moment to catch my breath, that's all."

"Alright, alright, I won't tease you any further," Lord Magnus chuckled, opening the carriage doors. "Just remember why we're here, and we'll depart tomorrow. Keep that in mind."

"Of course," Samiel nodded, his expression composed, the earlier awkwardness vanishing as if it had never existed.

'My poker face seems to be working,' Samiel thought to himself, pleased with his ability to conceal his emotions.

However, his carefully crafted facade crumbled as soon as he stepped out of the carriage.
