In Samiel's words, the whole hall descended into a cold silence. Since many of them arrived two or three days ago, they didn't hear the news about it.

"No, never mind." Samiel himself broke the silence shaking his head and faced toward guests one more time. "I will now make way for others to enjoy this splendid feast. Bon appétit!"
With a bow and a flourish, Samiel gracefully exited the stage, leaving behind a hall filled with laughter and applause.
The king, momentarily taken aback by Samiel's quick wit, couldn't help but 'admire' the young man's ability to turn an embarrassing situation into a moment of levity. So he joined in the applause.
